In the first playoff round we see Evo XtC facing Kingsurf. With Ks being the hot favourites, XtC is here to prove their strength as they hold 3 members from former Zenith, and must not be underestimated. They used a relatively unused strategy using heroes like Axe, Enchantress, Warlock, Luna and Tormented Soul. In the early stage of the game, XtC's Axe played by eVo Ice completely shut Ks down as they did not know how to counter an aggresive axe, by 20 minutes mark, all 6 outer tower of Ks were down and by 30 minutes, 2 mid raxes and 1 bottom rax went down too. However, Ks managed to pull a comeback as Ks-YamateH's Spectre farmed up and went beyond godlike. myMYM.com caught with the ESWC champion, eVo ToFu for an interview shortly after their loss.

Lets start by introducing yourself first.

Hi, my name is ToFuBoi, I'm from team Evo`XtC

What do you think about the event?

I think it is grand and quite cool. The schedule is a bit late but I guess it is ok because it can give us time to warm up and prepare ourselves.

So did you guys went out yesterday night (first day)?

Oh, we were very tired we just went back and slept.

How will you spent the prize money if you manage to win the tournament?

I'm not sure but I think I'll just go out and walk around and if I had more than enough then I'll think of something to buy maybe.

Who will be your hardest opponent?

It has to be in the same field, EHOME, Fnatic, Ks, CaNt even, all the strong teams that are dominating the Asian DotA scene.

How were your groupstage matches?

Our group was very easy actually but we lost our last game versus PGA, we just played like..anyhow just play, because we were qualified to the playoffs no matter how is the outcome of the game

You guys just used a new strategy that gave Ks a hard time, who thought about the lineup?

Actually we saw that in a pub game, some people was using it and they owned us, so we decided to try it. This is the first time for us to use it in tournament but we trained the strat few times before this.

So XtC was dominating early game, getting towers really early, giving no room for Ks to farm, so what happened actually?

Basically one push at the bottom gave them the chance to come back against us when we had 5 heroes down and they had none down. If we successfully pushed into the base in that push we could have won the game easily, but because of the failure we eventually started going downhill. We will discuss and find out the problem of the game to improve.
