The Italian Protoss player Italy Protoss Carlo "ClouD" Giannacco has just announced that he will leave the Templars of Twilight roster and will instead focus on other projects.

After the not so impressive WCG results, ClouD (right picture) decided to leave the team and stop being involved with the foreign StarCraft scene whatsoever.

ClouD "Since I still really love the game I decided to quit the team and to not browse Starcraft sites, forums and watch vods, so I will just spend my time playing some fun games or to participate in tournaments. Needless to say I had a nice time with everyone and that my experience in this team was the most special I had in this game", ClouD said on the Templars' website.

An important member to the Templars of Twilight roster, especially in clanwars, ClouD will definitely be missed and it will be quite difficult for Germany Zerg Mondragon to find someone to replace him.

However, the Italian Protoss claims he will not disconnect himself from StarCraft completely, meaning that there is a chance to see him in action if some tournaments should arise. The ToT roster looks like this:

this reminds me of mym.raven - high expectations, complete disaster in groups and departure from sc scene.

well i guess he expected more :)

he played 24/7 and expected to accomplish something, now that he has to face a complete failure he cant handle it, i mean all that trouble for nothing, not even surviving the groups.

he already said before wcg that he would retreat from bw for a while or completly after wcg no matter the outcome, ok this might be due to the result of the spirit tournament

yep well was gonna say that but i figured it isnt fair - if he was hoping to achieve something, failed and lacks motivation to keep on pushing its his own choice,

im not sure what he was hoping for, trying really hard and being successful from the first attempt...doesnt work that way. many players are good and they continue playing, so why has he decided to quit? does he think that he is so good that he deserved to perform better at wcg, it is possible that he's set his standards 2high and now cant live up to them - you can be a hero of the street but to be a champion you need..character as one might say.

You should be happy that MYM pays players, mTw does too and I remember other teams that did this as well.

I don´t think that any other team is competitive with MYM as soon as it comes down to the payments. But I would like to point out, that this is my very personal opinion and does´nt need to be considered as fact, kk?!?! ^^ Besides payment, the only thing which would matter for me as player would be the atmosphere within the team and the proper handling of organisational issues. So everybody can decide on his own how to treat it... :D

Yeah, but you need to see that eSports is a sport. And like in every sport people wanna earn money and make a business out of it. Just look to Korea... it is all about money there and no one cares about the atmosphere in a team. But hey, I agree with you that we shouldn't compare sc in Korea with SC in Europe and maybe atmosphere matters here more. But I can tell you that the players in the team get along pretty fine and I know as a fact that it is great to hang out with players like Dreiven, White-Ra, Strelok and Co, they all like and support each other :) Some ppl come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay ever!

who wants that? the only thing to talk about is, will it be a 5-0 or a 4-1. A sport - and I consider SC:BW as e-sport - needs competitiveness to fascinate the ppl in the scene.

Of course its not in our interest to lose really strong competitors but you cant blame us to use our resources almost optimal right now ;P
But anyway, i'm kinda confident that we'll see closer decision in the CLs soon. LRM is getting stronger again since Nuno seems to be back. MgZ can play a good role and of course RoX. And who knows what else happens soon?...

I don´t blame nobody especially not MYM. how the act in the various leagues. As you said MaX you guys use your resources properly. Of course I tend to say MYM. has more resources than anybody else in non-professional broodwar scene, but that does´nt change my mind. Any sport needs competitiveness and currently there is none in terms of the known leagues. And predictions might come true but does´nt need to come true.

We can long speak, I will tell to you one. The rem that as I has come in MYM. Our command long time showed unsatisfactory result. Though there were star players and received good money. So all business is in command spirit and desire to win and the salary is additional motivation and your responsibility before a command.

As I already said (see my reply I made in comment #26) the things for me as a player like atmosphere, team-spirit and good orga would be much more important. No doubt that MYM does great in this regard, no doubt at all.
