The end of WarCraft 3 teams?

WarCraft 3 has become more and more popular over the last few years; players became stars, events offered greater and greater prize pools, the community grew massive, people became fans of teams like MYM or SK - or is it actually just more of Grubby, Moon and Lyn?
Are you really interested in the teams or the players? And what's even more important is: are sponsors interested in supporting a single superstar who has the potential to win a couple of highly remunerated tournaments, or a team with many average players which seldom wins anything - and if they win as a team, will the prize money be that low, such that not much is left for their employer? Winning a team league is not about money, but prestige!
Just a few days ago 
Serious Gaming announced that they won't participate in team leagues anymore like WPL-1, NGL ONE and the WC3L Qualifier. The management came to the conclusion that the level of success no longer outweighs the costs - they willl focus more on the solo events.

And I think that there are more people living in China than in the other eSport-states (USA, South Korea, and some European countries).
