Jørgen 'XeqtR' Johannessen proposed a new money system in his position as commentator at ESL TV during the ESL Global Challenge Dubai tournament.
He criticizes the current situation, because most of the teams start to save their weapons as CT, if they lose one bombspot and the viewers have to watch at least 30 seconds of just waiting. Right now the original CS-moneysystem is used with just $800 in the beginning of the first round and then earning money for kills and round wins, with getting less money if you lose the round.
XeqtR sees a better situation for the viewer if you can get a pistol round and after five rounds enough money for every player to buy weapons for the remaining ten rounds. The game would get a lot easier with that, but the teams can concentrate mostly on winning rounds and not just thinking about their money situation.
With that change you would probably see more action and more attempts to win 1on2/1on3-situations. The proposal is similar to the CGS money system, where you don't have any pistol rounds and got $16.000 in the beginning.
But for XeqtR it's not an improvement to shorten the rounds like in the CGS, where the teams are rushing most of the time, because the round time is shorter. The teams need the time to build up tactics and come back after they lost some players.
The last big change of the money system evolved CS 1.6 from being an outdrawn campfest to being a fast-paced action-game, where it didn't matter whether or not your entire team died. This change could possibly give the game a push in yet another good direction. It remains to be seen however, if this is going to get implemented.

Its kinda lol when you see teams buying their real weapons in round 3, coz they lost the first round... T_T
I hope this will help to improve the game ╦╦╦╦╦╦╦ The fence of the Ancients ╦╦╦╦╦╦╦

Don't think they should change it. It's been the rules for so long and i think changing it would mess it up.

mb it would be more action at the game - sure it would be more action, but.... than it would be just so easy... it would be aim > any other thing
just dumb ... if you could have weapons any other round it would be even easier than quake :P

what he proposes is basically call of duty, but no, a game such as cs is famous as hell ._.

Removing the money system at all is no good step because it always has been a thing that was easy to understand but also very important.
I think there are better options like increasing the money gain for lost rounds slightly or improving pistols/decreasing the effect of kevlar against pistols. This would definitly making save rounds more interesting. For example USP could get +5 ba Already beeing at this point, other weapons could become a bit stronger, too. Like P90 and Scout. Actually, now after seeing him on that video clip, i think he might be right. The money is often the cause of camping/picking/slow rounds and "saving your weapon". If the teams have more money to buy weapons, more action filled rounds would occur. This way you lose those 2-3 rounds when teams are ecoing throughout a game.
It might prove harder for a team to win, but that goes for both teams. I think it would be interesting to try in some kind of competition.

Money is certainly a major factor in CS, but I think the system is fine as is. Sure, we do see a lot of camping and slow rounds, but knowing how to control your money so you don't get caught with no cash at the start of a round is a skill that takes experience to hone. The money system was already changed a few times; if I remember correctly, it was slightly altered back in the day when SK Gaming won many big matches basically by "controlling" their opponent's money (so if SK won their first few rounds they were basically set to win the match).
I'm forever wishing I was blowing bubbles like Phil :<

XeqtR is little bit irritated ;p instead of changing money system, let's buff some weapons, change their price and set start money 1000$ ? or something like this. It's really interesting discussion cuz changes could bring some freshness to the game and brake the boredom. Let's think about it guys ;]

It would be quite interesting this new kind of money system, cuz in the most cases after every ct gun round you need to save for 1 or 2 rounds, and that makes the game really a bit boring to watch. So I agree with XeqtR's suggestion.
But nice would also be to play 3 pistolrounds for both teams, than 3 rounds with gallil, famas and scout, finally rest of the rounds m4, ak and awp. feel the nature

I like the current situation. This will almost drop tactics from CS because much % of tactics is in money.

I don't agree. The magic of the eco round will disappear. Maybe if the startmoney is 1000 is ok but having money all the time.. its like respawn server. If you have skills you will be good with or without money.
I am super cool

I get what he means about the action point of view and that its a different kind of action compared to how the CGS works with Source. Its not just rushing in and 4 seconds of shooting then the round ends, its 2 minutes of strategic play, and even if a round is reduced to a 1v5 or 2v4 or what have you, the pla
The only problem I see is that the money factor (saving, buying together, money management, etc.) is what makes cs such a good competitive game. You can't be a top team if you don't know how to work as a team and do things like money management, etc. Its a very important part of the strategy of the game. If you take it out, I am afraid that some skill sets will go out the window and you will just have a sort of 16k ESEA baiting st The terrorists will bait, because they now know they don't need their team to thrive with them so they can get good guns and go and play 'ninja' for 15 rounds in a row and just try to show themselves off. and on CT they will just camp their site and never rotate unless the bomb is planted and cost their team rounds. I'm sure the top teams wouldn't play like this, they realize how important teamplay is, etc. I just think it will turn most of the community into what the NA Source community is right now, ESEA baiting st Take out a skill element and you are left with larger skill gaps between professional pla The idea is there, but I think it is still flawed and it needs more work if it is to work. Mess with the best die like the rest

In my opinion, let's not change things which are already good. Tell me, who doesn't want to see an impressive eco win... Winning one is showing the power of a team already. Also by giving ppl the possibility to have 16k all the time would make the game more predictible if you know what I mean.
