LucifroN surprises at BlizzCon

blizzcon, lucifron

As the first day of BlizzCon comes to end, some surprises won't be forgotten for a long time. Spain Orc LucifroN, currently the best player in Spain and playing for Spain x6tence on LAN, shocked crowd as well as the community when he defeated Korea, South Orc Lyn as well as winning the upper-bracket final of BlizzCon Warcraft 3 Tournament.

Before getting to global finals at BlizzCon, LucifroN had to go through some tough challenges. He had to place top3 in order to qualify, going through some of Europe's strongest players. He placed 3rd in the European finals, winning against LiiLD.C then losing to Happy. From the lower-bracket fighting his way through by winning against both Creolophus and ToD then unfortunately losing the next match to SaSe.

Being seeded as no.6 in the tournament he first had to face United State- Human Sonkie, who was seeded no.3. It was expected that LucifroN would beat Sonkie, not only for the match-up, but also for the constant good result he has shown recently. Despite Sonkie being a good human, he has recently been having his ups and downs with his result. LucifroN won with a 2-0 score against Sonkie and then had to face Happy.

Russian Fede- Undead Happy who had came from winning against Korea, South Nightelves ReminD in the first round was expected to take the next match. For the history Happy has had in the Warcraft 3 scene and playing for Germany Mousesports, it was expected that Happy would win against LucifroN. On the other hand others criticised the expectation of Happy winning due to the race LucifroN plays. Despite that, LucifroN has proven to be a very good player and it shouldn't come to the point where the race he uses is to blame for his success. LucifroN took next round with a 2-1 score and proceeded to face Lyn.

After Human and Undead vs. Orc Matchup, LucifroN then found himself in a mirror match against Korea, South Orc Lyn. It definitely came as a surprise when LucifroN defeated Lyn in the upper-bracket finals and sending him to the lower-bracket. Lyn has quite a history in the Warcraft 3 scene playing for China World Elite and currently  Internationa- SK-Gaming as well as being one of the best Orc players with a strong Orc-Mirror. Losing to LucifroN was definitely an upset.

Lyn won the first game fairly easy which gave him a 1-0 lead against LucifroN. The second game things went very well for LucifroN as he managed to kill Lyn's Blademaster twice in the beginning, getting a lead on his heroes level, making his army slightly stronger then Lyn's. LucifroN made an amazing play the third game on Melting Valley, making by far on of the best creep-jack in a long time, taking the last hit on an ice troll with a peon as Lyn was farming the 3 o'clock gold mine. LucifroN kept a constant harass on Lyn's farming with his Blademaster as he leveled up his Shadow Hunter which gave him an advantage during the fights and won the third game.

LucifroN goes directly to the Grand Final while Lyn is sent to the lower-bracket final. Coming from the winner-bracket, LucifroN gets a 1-0 advantage and only has to win one best-of-3 series while the loser-bracket winner has to win two best-of-3 series to win the Grand Final.

I expected LucifroN to do some damage, but really this is by was far not what I expected him to do hehehehehe. It was just amazing when I was watching his matches against Lyn. In his last matches he was by far the better player, it was unbelieveable.

Good luck LucifroN

Lucifron got an incredibly easy draw and played well against Lyn.

Lyn will 2-0 2-0 him in the final rematch since he really only lost due to bad tactical mistakes / creepjacking.
