MGC to invite MYM, SK, DTS?

While foreign WC3- and StarCraft-players are invited to Chinese events every single year, most DotA-tournaments in the country is still only for home-grown teams.

Make Games Colorful, which supposedly will be held in Wuhan in November, wants to change that though, as they are currently running a vote to see which teams should be invited. The vote will determine which two or three foreign teams will be invited for the Chinese event, to compete for the prize purse of $9,470.

Right now Sweden SK Gaming, Internationa- MYM and DTS Gaming are the frontrunners in the poll with 550, 548 and 524 votes respectively.

Last year's edition of MGC featured its first ever DotA-tournament, which proved to be a major success. This year's tournament will feature eight teams, where the local teams will have to go through a qualifier to get there.

Is it not also a question of which teams earned an invitation?

If some team has won nothing at all, has just taken half its new players from another developing, good team -- leaving them to hang in the air with two or three guys, but still some fans want to see the new team play, do they then deserve a spot for that? Hell no.

Or say some really bad-mannered comedy squad, who has never won as a team, is desired by some fans over a team that earned it from wins and play. Who deserves to be invited?

Be careful not to make team achievements and good team play into nothing.

WG disbanded a while ago, ergo, earned zilch as a team since then. Some of those players recently left the good team of Ks.int and its two other players holding nothing but their, um, keyboards.

OK I guess I have to spell it out: Ks.Int had built a solid team with spots in Pride 11, F4F, DL and then three of the key UA players were bought out by DTS and Vigoss, leaving Jolie, Puppey and Azen out to dry just before these big tournaments. Ks.Int and their sponsor got royally screwed. Ks.Int now has old pros Horon and Gunz to fill in, but with all due respect they haven't been at the top level competitively in a long time.

The fact that PGS is even on this list makes it kind of hard to take serious. Not because of skilllevel, solely because they've proved nothing as far as I'm aware of anyway.
MYM or SK deserves to go, without question.. :)

No Met, but we don't belong on this list as well. :) But even though we've proved almost nothing, we've at least proved more than PGS. The only teams that should be on that list is SK, MYM, Zenith, KS, Ks.Int/R3D & TPD. Imho. And that's solely based on what they've shown, results and statistics from various on- and offline tournaments :)

Sorry i forgot about EG, these guys should at least be in the vote!..

The votes probably aren't based on worthiness according to the past tournament wins.

They're based on the popularity of the players. Like TPD, the only popular person is Chu (in China, at least). And people like Vigoss, Travka, and Dendi get so much popularity in Asia because of their exciting play style, and we already know that Loda has a million fans as well as Merlini. And the fans have already seen KS and Zenith and Fnatic against their representative on LAN several times (E-home).

It's about time they saw another miniature East meets West.

I think you're confused, son: it's the russians that never had good results on LAN-champs, just because they never made to any competition outside Russia, with other teams.

Dreamhack and ESCW are LAN competition, right? Point me the russians that played there.

AGREE, SK SUCKS. I mean they didn't even make more money than any clan in dota this year, truly lowskill :(

Come on puppey, this was 5 months ago and is the only time a non-russian/ukrainian team participated in the same tourney as a russian team. You can't base it solely on this one occasion dude :) So phil is kinda right (for once), until we see Russian teams starting to participate in other offline tourneys than ASUS, we can't really know for sure.

You know, only a retard thinks most earned team in DotA is the best team. DotA hasnt even had its share of competitivity yet.

I see how a team plays, I see how the other team plays, I fucking make a difference who plays better, you just jump on the majorities opinion. I do not need offline tournies to tell me which team plays better. You do - means you go as far as knowledge of a noob.

I did not say that SK did bad this year, they surely proved to rape, I only answered this brazilian know-it-all faggot who thinks that russians haven't competed with other teams outside Russia.

Merely I am just trying to show that, you can have your opinion about what team is the best in the world, I can have mine. I don't think SK is the best in the world atm, but I can't prove that they're not. What you and I think are subjective opinions, what team achieved the most is objective and can't be questioned or biased.

It's cause your opinion doesn't matter so much. Usually the opinions what mattered most were the active IHCS1 people. There atleast people didn't look at the statistics, but the team. It was easy back then, VP best team lala, you know what win rate VP had in gosugamers when they existed? About 70%. You know what win rate MYM had? About 90%. This is exactly where you can either get my point or not.
