The world's largest LAN event, DreamHack, is kicking off with an amazing prize purse worth more than 41,000€ (Euro). Registrations are opened for the huge Counter-Strike tournament that arouses attraction among all interested; you can sign up for the festival until November 20, 2008.
From the 27th November up to November 30, over 64 gaming teams are expected to participate in the LAN qualification tournament at DreamHack's Winter edition. The four best teams will advance to the playoffs where they face twelve invited teams, which received a wildcard on registration.
You have to bring your own computer (BYOC) to attend the qualifier, quite the contrary shows the final tourney, where teams have to play on tournament PCs.

Game: Counter-Strike 1.6
Prize purse: Value 400 000 SEK. 200 000 in cash.
Dates: 27-30 November
Lan Qualifier (BYOC): 64 teams
Main competition: 16 (12 wildcards + 4 from the LAN Qualifier)
Registration period: Opens October 6 Close 21:00 CET November 20 .
Competition machines: All games is playes on tournament PC:s. Bring your own headphones, Mouse, etc
