K1ck's roster changes

foxj, k1ck, xlp

The portuguese team Portugal K1ck eSports Club decided to remove their whole K1ck.cs squad but Ricardo "foxj" Pacheco. The squad didn't show the expected performance, and after only achieving the fourth place at the XLP lan party series, the management decided to rebuild the team, which will be the task of the only remaining player, foxj.

"I think it was the best move as we couldn't find a way out by keeping the other members of the squad. Perhaps if we had done this earlier, things might have been different, but we don't like to keep making changes so we tried to exhaustion to maintain the team. Unfortunately, we couldn't do it any more," said foxj, "I'm always confident, for above all I trust in my skills and in the mates that I am already chosing to build the new team."

Here's K1ck's old line-up:

Portugal Ricardo "foxj" Pacheco
Portugal Nuno "BUX" Simões
Portugal José "Monk" Maganinho
Portugal Bruno "phrz" Barbosa
Brazil Luan "luna" Martins
Portugal Filipe "caliban" Alferes

Probably won't change much, the Portuguese scene is simply below the rest of the nations around the world. They aren't able to complete with any of the best/good teams.

Not quite true, did you ever followed any tournament? Did you know that defs placed 2nd and 3rd in Ciberline? defeating and placing above x6tence for instance, and loosing only against ledpc? Somehow, i can say that in denmark besides mTw/NoA there isn't any team capable of beating the top euro teams.. this make your country less stronger, in terms of counter-strike?

I think you took my comment the wrong way, i'm not attacking Portugal and saying they suck, not at all! I personally hate throwing mud, i'm just saying that the former team as well as the new team probably won't have a huge impact on the rest of the counter-strike scene. And tbh, x6tence or ledpc aren't that great either, this is also not an attack on Spain.

The before mentioned teams are not bad, not at all, they are just not contenders for the top events, it's the same with Kazakstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria etc. As mesh- mentions, it's probably due to the lack of good teams they can practice against, this is the same problem with Brazilian teams, and also the reason why mibr travel to Inferno Online in Sweden before big events.

I'm sorry if i offended you, i did not mean to.

I realize you weren't trying to offend anyone. The point i wanted to stress is that you can't talk about nations (besides perhaps Sweden), because there aren't more then two top teams in each country, if not only one...

Now i understand that, Portugal doesn't have any top team, but sometimes countries like mine, and some eastern countries as well just need the right support and nothing else. My comment could seem a contradiction, but what i'm trying to say is: Those teams have the value, they just lack opportunities to show em.

Kaze-, do you really know what happens such as a Latvian, Lithuanian counter-strike scene? I don't think so be quite. Maybe they don't have a place or something to train well? Just like us.
