ESWC has revealed the list of selected Warcraft 3 players for the upcoming ESWC Masters of Athens which will take place during the Athens Digital Week from October 17th to 18th, 2008, in Greece. The selections were made among dozens of applications sent to the ESWC Organizing Committee, according to the players' level and achievements.

The Warcraft 3 tournament will feature a total of 16 attendees (4 Greek champions and 12 International selected champions) and a total of $15,000 prize money.

Please note: I mean no disrespect to the players when I said "from the looks of the players list it's very noticeable that there are more Nightelves then there are any other Race"

there is nothing with having a lot of Nightelves or Orcs, I just pointing that out.

"From 12 players nearly half of them are Nightelf players and the amount of Orc players added almost cover the total amount of players. There on there is just one Undead and two human players in the list."

First of all, there's 6 Nightelf players, thus it's half, not "nearly half". (sadly)
Secondly, there's 3 Orc players, which is 1/4th of the total players, which is perfectly fine. Saying they almost cover the total amount of players is rubish, and a total stretch from 2 human players.. which is only 1 less than orc.

Blame it on the elfs, not the orcs.

Other than that, thanks for the info ^^

XD when you throw the players around in the list, rather then just put them from Race to race, you start to see things. :D

Sorry about that and Thanks for pointing that out. ^^

Look this is not a race thing. There can be 12 orcs for all I care. Its about whos playing well and who deserves to be in there. I see some elves to don't deserve to be in there and I see humans and Orcs that don't deserve to be there.

Well actually they didnt got invited, they had to apply. Thats why there arent any chinese players, according to ESWC.

What a bad choice of invitations. Instead of Sonkie, Tod and Reign, they could've chosen LiilD.C, Soju and Titan :P

Remember that all the players here have submitted their candidature. That's why you don't see any chinese players etc. So it's not only invitation.

Btw, all the players here could lose to LiiL, Soju or Titan.

Im serious where the hell is the chinese? I mean why Sonkie, why ToD? They already know Americans cannot compete with Asians and they know that ToD has a reputation of complaining. Still WHY? Even guys like fly100%, Infi and TeD who are playing well are not invited? If ESWC wants to make wc3 international get the chinese they are the biggest supporters of the game right now.

The thing is that the players had to apply and the "Committee" was going to select the players based on skills and achievements. Which is where we get to this list. But the thing is that we do not know who applied to know from what list of players they choose these from and from what achievements we are talking about. Because let's be honest I do not remember Sonkie winning anything big, just US Blizzard finals and like SaSe get's far in tournaments but does not end up winning. That is all the info they give for us to stick with unfortunate.

Ok I just found out some news from SK. It seems that none of the chinese players applied because they were affraid of visa issues. TH000, Sky, Ted, XiaoT none of them applied it seems.
