Defense of the Ancients (DotA), a widely popular modification in Warcraft III made it once again! One of the largest events in the E-sports scene named Kode5, included DotA in its list. Teams from all over the world can sign up and compete for the total prize purse of $2,000 cash as well as a slew of hardware prizes. And all this is to be owed to the fast growing community, since DotA does not have a publisher, which is able to support the Warcraft III funmap financially.
The sign-up will be open from today the 22nd Sept. and there will be 2 online cups which will take place from the 06th Oct. - 15th Dec.
Thomas "kul1" Kuhlenbach, Business Development Director of Kode5:
"We decided to support dota because it has a huge community and is a global game. it is famous all around the global and has a lot of fans. what dota needs is more tournaments to support the scene and to create stars like it happened once at counter-strike 1.6. If the feedback from the community is good, we will enlarge our activities in DotA"
Prize money:
1st: $1,000 + hardware prize
2nd $500 + hardware prize
3rd: $300
4th: $200
