Canada is one of those countries that doesn't have just one or two top class players, so what happens when you put all those players at one place? In most cases you get a WCG qualifier but sadly this year Canada has been left out when it comes to the WCG, luckily for us we were still given a chance to see just how good all the best Canadian players are.

All the guys who planned to participate at the WCG qualifier were given a chance to prove their skills at a tournament under the secret code name Can-LAN. We ain't talking about random people gathered to have some fun, this was a really top class tournament with names such as TT1, Oldy, AeriALs and many more.

Prize pool consisted of over $600, hardware, etc. so there was more than just pride at stake for those who planned to take one of the top 3 spots. As it always happens, the throne was entitled to just one name and that was MYM.IefNaij.

He passed the group stages with a 4-1 score and then took out some pretty hard opponents in the winner brackets, namely TT1, SchiSm and then AeriALs in the winner bracket finals. AeriALs was also a busy little bee as he took out some solid names, too. Oldy was one of such victims as then he had to hack and slash his way through the loser brackets, which he did quite successfuly as he fought his way all the way to the grand finals. There he met Jian Fei and suffered a 3-0 loss.

Congratulations to MYM.IefNaij for winning this tournament, but even same recognition should go to the deadly duo of TT1 and Xeris as these two took the responsiblity of organising the whole event. There's just one thing left to mention, none of this would've happened if there wasn't for their sponsor Binary Beast so let's hope they organise more events of this magnitude in the future.
