No StarCraft 2 for Christmas
release, sc2, starcraft 2
Best-selling computer game in 1998, best strategy computer game of the same year and 9 million copies sold worldwide, which ranks it as the third best-selling computer game in the history. A highly awaited sequel is on its way, expected to hit the stores at the end of this year...
All that we know about StarCraft 2 so far can be summarized in just couple of words and a single statement - "maybe", "probably" and "it will be done when it is ready". Actually no matter what you hear or read it is either a rumor or a speculation. The only "reliable" source is Blizzard, but yet even the developers admit that nothing is final.
As Blizzard strive for perfection more and more, the more clear it becomes, that StarCraft 2 will not make a 2008 release or even beta. The so obvious fact has been officially confirmed by Frank Pearce (Blizzard's Executive Vice President of Product Development):
| "This year? Like, 2008? Too much work to do, we don’t have a specific release date in mind yet. We still have too much work to do. |
Apparently the balancing process and doing the Single Player campaigns simultaneously is taking too much time and Blizzard simply cannot handle all that work.

This is typical Blizzard and what makes their games amazing. They don't ever have "set times" for when a game should be released since they want to make their games the best that they can be which may mean pushing the release date further.

eh what do they think- that a good rts can be made simply out of their heads and public desires? brood war was their best rts move ever, but it was a lucky move as they didnt have a clue how the game will be played and on what level, whereas in their other rts ti
and it's already a hit because it leeches on sc reputation, no matter what they do the game will still be far from balanced and it will take some time before pla If force won't work, use greater force.
