ENC 2008 - Russia misses the Finals

The Russian national team of Warcraft III misses the ENC 2008 Finals due to visa application issues.
Denmark gets a ticket to Leipzig, Germany as a replacement, according to ESL official site.
Russians qualified for the Finals as the runner-up team of Group B, where they had to go head to head with the likes of team Sweden, only to be stopped by the German Embassy.
Team Russia manager issues the following statement:

| I am really sorry it came this far again - Russia not at the ENC finals. I guess it is a really sad moment, because we deserved to show our offline skills at a big event. We all wanted to meet each other in Germany, but due to visa issues, the embassy decided to reject our application. Anyway, we wish Denmark all the best and hope they will make the best of our spot! Denmark, bring home the title for Denmark and Russia! |
