After placing second at the Antwerp eSports Festival myMYM.com had a chat with KomaCrew's team captain
svo.
myMYM.com: Hi svo, I don't think any introduction is needed. You recently placed 2nd at the Antwerp eSports Festival after playing really well against Pandemic. Tell me a bit about the event in general. What did you like and what did you dislike ?
KomaCrew|svo: Hi Hendrik. I can not think of anything I disliked, maybe only the fact that we had to open our bags every time we went in and out of the gaming area. But this is obviously a good thing too. Then I will start with the venue. It was really nice, we first checked out the gaming area. It didn't look too big but it looked very very nice! Then the gaming itself, it was really nice, nobody could distrub you and when you win a round you could look to your left or right and see the crowd cheering :D ! This was very nice as well. And of course the location, Antwerp, you had everything within 1 minute walking range so you didn't have to spend your energy other then gaming and having fun:)
Lets talk about your performance. I think you are more than satisfied with your result. Are there still any major things you want the team to change to win the next LAN event ? If yes, which ?
Yes, overall we played really well. I think the first match versus pandemic we were a little bit over confident or whatever and by this we made some crucial mistakes and that's how we lost this game. I think the match could have easily been won by us as well, although they played really well of course. And then who knows who won that final ;) haha but no, we will not make any changes within the team. We will soon announce our official 5th member ;) We will have a little break now for holidays and after that we will train our new tactics which we will make, so hopefully we can go in another grand final at the next LAN, and then win it :)
What do you think makes you perform so well in almost every tournament you are in ?
We just practised our maps since the Acer/iPower series where we ended up in the grandfinals as well, however at Acer we had a hard time versus H2k, and on iPower we lost twice to H2k, so this made us realize we had to train and step up our game and so we did and I think that's how we ended up in the grand finals once again :)
There were rumours at the AEF that you won't be attenting as you were about to join the organization of mTw and KC cancelled your trip in the last minute. Tell us a bit about that.
I don't know nothing about this lol.. never been in contact with mTw. We did got some offers, but we are still with KC, they are very nice guys, we met the managers on AEF and it was really great and fun :) I really can't tell you more at this point.

As you stated above you won't be attending the Experience. What are your plans for the future regarding LAN events ?
Yes, we can not attend any of the other following summer LANs as TeX and i34 because of holidays. However we will be attending Easybash (CDC5) in September, and maybe the Maxlan in France in November, but this depends if any bigger events will be announced. I don't think there's any other event announced so far.
There were many surprises at the AEF teamwise. Tell me something about your biggest surprises and your biggest disappointements of the whole tournament.
Surprises:
- SP Gaming over Speedlink in the 2nd groupstage :D
- srs doing pretty well considering their lack of preperation.
- Pandemic winning the event (ofcourse they are really good and deserved it but nobody would thought they would win it over dignitas,EG,fnatic or esuba etc.)
- Tek9 as a suprise as well since they are pretty much back in the scene after this event. They played really nice.
Disappointments:
- Reason and eSuba being knocked out pretty early in the event.
- At first MYM in the groupstages but they made a pretty nice comeback but at that moment I was watching them it was a disappointment for me.
- Also I would say NCS a bit of a disappointment (I knew they wouldn't get far but because of that 25 days bootcamp and everyone hyping them up its a bit of a disappointment.
Which teams will place 1st-3rd at TeX in your opinion ?
1. Pandemic 2. EG 3. TEK9
You think George should stop playing CoD4 and instead go for a dancing career ?
HAHA, no he should definitly stay @ CoD4, just so he can go on entertaining the rest of the players. He is such a great guy! :D so funny hahhaha
Thanks for your time svo, any shoutouts ?
Shoutouts to all my friends, unlucky we can not spend any more time @ tex and i34 however we will meet up again @ easybash i hope. Also shoutouts to the KC management and supporters! Cya all on the next event! ciao !
