[DM9] Mouz wins due to MYM forfeiting

It's been a while since there was a MYM vs. SK final, and in DotA Masters 9 this isn't going to happen either. Mouz and MYM will go head to head for the title. The heavy favourites from 
SK was surprisingly knocked out by the Finnish team 
Delirium.Gaming in the Quarter-final.
So this time around, it will be 
MYM.DotA and Mouz.DotA facing off in the DotA Masters 9 Grand Final. The teams just met recently in PlayDay 5 of the PDL where MYM pulled out a 2:0 victory. Mouz did give MYM a run for their money though, as the first game was a tight affair for all 93 minutes.
Since then, Mousesports has been reinforced by the former MYM-man, 
LevenT, and he will be looking to show his old team how wrong they were letting him go. Will the German be able to utilize his insider-knowledge of his old team, or will Maelk win his first title for a long time? It's all going to be decided tonight!
Don't forget about the 3rd place decider either, where DG will play against 
Shakens for the 3rd place.

Here is the statement from DL.Milo
"Talked with the tournamnet administration and the head admins of the DotA-League and we came to the decision that you have to play on an European host. Which is fairness as MYM had their host for the last time it was an offer of mouz not to use Kuro if you don't use Fear and do an European host"
and here is what Maelk had to say about their forfeit:
"First of all, we are of course sorry foir all the people waiting to see the game.
We had a lineup of five players we wanted to use tonight and we were not able to use anyone but these 5 members as slahser and MaNia are unable to play. Thus the Fear for KuroKy-idea doesn't work. At least not tonight.
For the whole lag-issue, I'm perfectly fine with everyone blaming me - After all I am the captain, but make no mistake, it was a teamdecision and not mine alone. As a captain, however, I am the spokesperson.
I don't see how it is us that are being the narrowminded on this matter. mouz is a tough opponent so why would we agree to have two of our players lag an entire game. Just as might play 3v5 then?
DotA-Leagues decision on forcing an European host is theirs to take as it is their tournament. Their reasoning is flawed, though.
We have 3 Europeans, yes, but that would still leave us with 3v5-scenario. That we hosted the first two games were mouz's decision, not ours.
As for the German communities response to us supposedly 'fearing' KuroKy: He's a terrific player, I agree, but you don't see us chicken out on Loda or vigoss, do you? :)

this one is for the question above. Worth noticing, Perith, is that by standing by what we believe I also raise our teamspirit. All the fanboys in the world wouldn't be worth the trust and liking of your teammates. Say we decided to play the game: Fear and Merlini both would have complained about lag, lowered the ingame morale and - Should we end up losing - ultimately have been pissed that we decided to play.

Fear i can see your point in this discussion.
BUT : You cant rly think that mouz play on an american host, when there best pla So Mouz told you, they play without kuro and you without fear for playing on a european host. But noooo , you wont play, better to forfeit the game.. And why? Maelk said that they had a team planned to play , but he must have known that you would have delaxy on a european host. I dont believe he didnt knew that you wouldnt get three times the host advantage when all mouz pla Anyway you should have see this problems before playing, you could have searched a host before. To forfeit a game, which has no - NO - prizes instead of simply playing it, was very disapointing for me, cos i was a big fan of yours. Everything i saw was that MYM doenst want to do any compromise atleast. Before MyM do any compromise, they rather forfeit a game. This behavior was kind of kindergardenst | |||||||||||||

I didnt say that Mym feared Kuro pls learn to read my posts.
But pls tell me honestly that a forfeit looks better than a normal match, which they might have lost ( fear played on european hosts before too and it werent that bad games huh?) edit: we "germans" understood that merlini was just kidding. In the case last night, the sword cut both ways. MYM didn't want two of its pla So the only thing to do then was to try to work out a solution that was fair for both sides. And given the bad way the discussion went -- and considering also DL's rule that the games are to be played on a Euro host -- it was obvious that there was no solution to be found. They probably could have postponed until they found a host they all liked, but by that time tempers were lost. | |
They should have played in Battle.net on a RU-host ;).
But seriously, MYM would look better if they would have played the game and lost than forfeiing. I cant believe how Maelk can say after the game, that they would play it, if there would be a cointoss. Also he blames the German community, because some (angry) people spammed the mym.dota IRC-Channel. Yesterday there were over 400 people in IRC-Channel and over 100 on our teamspeak-server to listen a livecast of the game. Of course they are disappointed and frustrated if they wait more than two hours for a game, which isnt played. Delay here or there, there was no prizemoney or something (okay fame), so why dont just play for community to have a funny game. At least mouz presented us a dota-game. profesional killstealer and alpaca^-farmer
