“Becoming a progamer” is probably the answer most of us would give when asked “what do you wanna be when you grow up?”, since watching Boxer microing would probably be enough of a stimulus. Getting paid to play your favorite game is something definitely worth dreaming of, but some people actually do it: we call these people progamer.
| Summary of the Pro Gamer position - All expense paid trip to Korea. - Living, practicing, and competing with numerous Pro Gamers while living in a pro team house. - All things you need will be covered. Three meals a day, room and board, no bills to pay, fitness program, etc. - Multiple trips to compete in different events in Korea, which include Courage League, Minor League, Bnet Attack, Pro League, etc. |
Well what if you would get an all expense paid trip to South Korea, the chance to live and play with Korean progamers? This could however turn to something real if you have the skill and determination; that’s right, all you need is StarCraft knowledge and a strong will to succeed, as competing against Koreans is obviously nerve-wrecking.
| Requirements for the Pro Gamer position - High knowledge of Starcraft on a competitive level, from the latest maps, latest builds, and are able to pick up things fast when shown how to do it. - Willing to practice Starcraft at least 8 hours per day, which is the normal training schedule in Korea. - Able to listen and follow directions closely and do what is asked and expected of you. |
Regarding the tryouts, they will take place two times per week, each session lasting for 2 hours and each time a different progamer will be your opponent. The maps that you should focus on are the ones included in the current ProLeague season. Also, the games will also be broadcasted and Artosis will provide the commentaries.
The fact that IEG is looking for players around the world to become progamers in South Korea is something extremely rare; this means that if you believe you have what it takes, don’t give it a second thought, just apply by sending an e-mail to iegstaff@scforall.com. The good part about this is that there is no actual deadline, which should give you some time to thoroughly prepare for this.

it's really a great idea but i don't see enough yound foreign pla
i mean most of the top foreigners are a bit older and wouldn't be going for korea because they would have to leave so much behind so in the end this thing probably comes 3-4 years too late sadly | |

That's true, but hopefully there will be something similar for SC2 if it's successful or not.

When Icefrog introduced 6.52 in May, DotA came under fire as the game turned into a huge farm fest. This is apparently not appealing to most fans as it is boring to watch a full out farming game. Ther...
