MYM.DotA reformation

dota, maelk, mym

Denmark Jacob "Maelk" Toft-Andersen has announced some changes with the Internationa- MYM DotA squad. Germany Levent, Canada ezy and United State- p0c have been removed, with the addition of Denmark Pusher-Street. After the team's performances at the LAN events Dreamhack and ESWC Masters of Paris, they decided there needed to be some changes.

Maelk claims there has been some bad vibes internally with the team and it has taken a toll on their teamwork and performance. In order to rectify their problems and get back on track, Jacob has decided to reform their roster. With some mutual agreements and personal decision, Levent, ezy and p0c have been removed officially and Pusher-Street has climbed on board.

Levent has been a long time honorary member, on the team for around 2 years and participating actively in all online competitions and most of their LAN events. Levent claims things were not working out for him with the team anymore and he will be looking for a new home now.

Germany Levent

We all know MYM DotA had some bad and unexpected results recently, especially from the LAN events.Nevertheless, we had some days to decide whats gonna happen with team. Since there were also some internal problems with me and some mates not personally but as a gamer, it would be better off not to play anymore. I enjoyed playing with my mates for such a long time. I loved them all, especially Hanni. It's still fun to play dota and there is only one way to play it, and thats competitively. So I'll either take a break for a short time or search for a team where I can fit into.

Pusher-Street has been a friend of the MYM DotA team for a long time now, through Denmark MaNia- who he has known through most of his life. He has been the resident stand-in for the team for quite some time now and Jacob claims he is the kind of support player the team has been looking for, for a while now. After dedicating himself to the team and helping them at ESWC Masters of Paris, he has been invited to join the team and gladly accepted.

Denmark MYM|PusHer

I came to join mym through my friendship with the entire team, I've known mania since i was 7 years old soo he got me in with the team making it possible for me to idle in thier private channel. From there I could scrim with them whenever they needed +1 and pick up the basic homour of the team (penis/mother jokes etc.) Since they were looking for a fullout support player in thier "new lineup" Maelk asked me to join since he feels my chemistry fits well with the others. I personally think me joining the team will give it some balance, i know there are ALOT of better players out there then me there's no denying that but I think I keep the morale of the team up since I dont get demoralized even after going 0-XXX etc. Even though ill prolly be the one getting blamed for every game mym will lose where im in the roster that shit doesn't phase me. MYM AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Interview with Denmark MYM|Maelk

Alright well first of all --- ezy, p0c and Levent have been released officially from the MYM DotA roster. Can you tell me the reasonings behind each person?

Starting of with ezy, he seemed to get off on the wrong foot and I could imagine that due to all the criticism of his play on various sites, he lost motivation completely. As goes for p0c, he haven't been as active for long periods of time and ultimately our new way of running the team didn't fit with him nor his schedule. After the lack of results and poor display of gameplay at ESWC, we decided for some major changes in the team and unfortunately there had to be sacrifices made. We have been a solid core for so long, but I don't really feel that we have developed as a team while other teams has, thus we needed to make space for new things. Levent is a dear friend of all of us, and it really pains me to let him go, but at the same time he seemed like he was ready to move elsewhere.

Well the team's performance has been disappointing both for the team and the fans. Is it just because of bad vibes within the team, or is there anything else that has been playing a part in it?

It has been a hectic few months for the entire team, people going through exams and myself being preoccupied with my job. With the new version, we didn't get to practice and what we could normally manage to spend a mere 5-10 hours a week on, training, suddenly became a full time thing if we wanted to keep up with rest of the teams. New version calls for a new playstyle and we now know what we have to do inorder to regain our rightful place amongst the elite. The motivation is at its highest in all of us, and rest assure that we will return stronger than ever.

What is it about 6.52 that your team is struggling with? Do you think it's just the hero picks or does it go deeper than that?

It's the entire playstyle. The heropicks has gotten better since Dreamhack, but the way we are used to playing and prefer playing simple doesn't cut it any longer. Most, if not all teams, has a very defensive approach to the game now and generally waits for the enemy to initiate. By doing this, their lategamer gets farmed and rather than losing fights cause of no initiate, you now win them. Don't ask me why, thats just how it works.

So now you're presenting a new addition, Pusher-Street who played ESWC Masters with you. Can you tell me a bit about him as a player and why you think he fits in with your team?

We have played with Pusher-street as a substitute for more than a year now, and he's what this version needs the most: A wholehearted support player. You could argue that this would be the first time we have ever had such a player in the team. Furthermore he's a close friend of Brian and has grown on the rest of us as well. He is easy going and has a great sense of humour. A great addition to say the least.

A lot of people have been wondering where Merlini has disappeared as we have no seen much action from him. Is he still going to be inactive with the team or what's going on there?

As mentioned earlier, exams and school took a lot of time for some of our players and Ben in particular had a lot on his mind. He has been practicing with us for the past month now, though, and will take an active role in the team again.

Are you interested in recruiting more players or are you content with where your roster stands now?

We are please with how things looks now and feel that all we need to do now is practice inorder to become the best of the best.

With the losses in ESWC Masters and ESWC American qualifiers, it seems your team can't qualify for the Grand Finals in August. Is your team going to try to get invited?

I would be lying if I said I didn't hope for miracles, but at the same time it does seem like a longshot. Should ESWC take mercy on us, we would be there in a heartbeat and prove our lacking qualifiers wrong.

Thanks for the interview and good luck to your team. Anything else you wish to add?

Thanks to the guys for a good 2 years, best of luck in their future endeavours.

i for one think this MyM roster is incredibly strong, as Maelk said they have never really had a full blown support player like Pusher, with Pusher supporting some of the best carrys in the world like Hanni and Merlini its more than likely gonna get MyM back up to top tier performance.

Well I agree that something had to be done, whether it was the right decision or not, time will tell. Pusher-Street is a good player, and a very dedicated support player, so it might be just what's needed.
All I can say is, best of luck to both Pusher and ofc MYM :)
