myMYM.com votes eSport Award 'Player of the year'

Turtle Entertainment just announced the nominees for the eSports Awards 'Player of the year'. It is the first time that they changed the system from scratch and the players you can vote in are divided up into seven regions all over the globe.

In the press release it says:

"From this year we will add even more authority to the voting of the “eSports Player of the Year“. We subdivide the “eSports Player of the Year“ award into seven regional awards: North America, South America, China, Korea, Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Northern Europe. The public polls will be held on the biggest and most prestigious eSport pages of all seven regions.

Every eSport page votes only the nominees of its affiliated region. The seven winners of the regional polls will be nominated for the worldwide “eSports Player of the Year“ and will be crowned at the Games Convention in August. The polls of the Regional eSports Player of the Year will be open until Monday, the 7th of July."

Grubby and walle. Any reason why you're not running/been asked to run a Eastern European poll as well?

I have no friggin clue. My guess would be that there are better suited sites for that; proplay.ru or Cyberfight.ru for example.

And I can't see walle taking it, sorry. If the period for these votes to be casted is between the last eSport Awards and now, then Sunde would have to take the Northern region. His steady and impressive play has been one of the cornerstones to NoA/mTw's success.

Well it was just who I voted for and I tend to go for achievement/progress over being a fanboy. Well I agree about proplay and Cyberfight, but SK was asked to run an Eastern European poll so I'm not so sure.

Because site visitors are mostly Northern and Western europeans and the crew wants to please them. :P Which is good. Don't get me wrong :)

>_> And it will be pointless. vhalle would win this with ease.

errm, are they apsolutely clueless about sc? bisu/savior, interesting, not to mention zero players enlisted outside korea, white-ra for example, well nvm, im guessing this is a money competition not a skill competition which would explain some of the names on this list.

How can you add guys like Fengzi and no PJ? 2nd Place WCG and so on? T_T

100% agree with #23.. where the heck is PJ for Starcraft in China... PJ is above Fengzi.

Draco is missing in the starcraft euro pool... arguably still the strongest none korean player. With JF and Mondi very close.

And north america is missing players.. no sc guy at all... Testie Retired less than a year ago? He should be on that pool, he completly dominated the 3 Americas in the last few years. Look at blizcon, he was "on par" with Nal_ra pvp skill level...

quite interesting to see vote put on a website where majority of fans belong to wc3 players and yet you see a completely different player easily winning the poll :) gogo mondy, maybe he's not contracted progamer but his skills are beyond many.

Why?! Why isn't there any Dota players?!

My guess (and probably the reason) as to why there are no DotA players on the list is because DotA is very new to the professional gaming scene, sure its been around for a while but its never really been as big as CS/WC3/SC, its only gaining momentum now
