This coming weekend, on June 28^th and 29^th, Paris, France will be home of yet another edition of the Blizzard World Wide Invitational which has been sold out for weeks already - of course! Emotions are bound to run high during to this event, and everyone will have a chance to see some of the best players in the world in action on a number of different Blizzard games, like Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, StarCraft: BroodWar and World of WarCraft Arena.

In general the WWI was supposed to be 'just' an invite torunament to celebrate Blizzard top games. But only having an eSports tournament would be boring and Blizzard wouldn't be Blizzard if they didn't care about their millions of fans and causual players all over the world. So it is a common thing that the WWI is used to present current development updates on Blizzard games and giving fans the chance to get in contact with the developers.

Due to that the WWI and BlizzCon have a couple things in common and only the venue of the event is different. While the BlizzCon takes always place in Anaheim, California next to the Blizzard Headquarters, the WWI moved after two stops in Korea to Paris where the European office is located.
