Strelok wins ASUS Spring 2008

One of the best StarCraft LAN events in Russia, the ASUS Spring 2008 was held this weekend. Players like Ukraine Terran MYM.Strelok, Ukraine Protoss MYM.White-Ra, Russian Fede- Terran RoX.Advokate, Russian Fede- Terran RoX`logistic (aka. Androide) Belarus Zerg LoWely[F2F] or Russian Fede- Zerg 3D.Notforu were there to show the Russian audience how StarCraft is played, hoping to win some of the 50.000 Russian Rubles (~$2100) that represented the prize pool, the first prize consisting of 20.000 Rubles, which is about $ 850.

With such high caliber players, the battles were anything but easy, but one player had to take home the first prize, and that final battle was between the one of the host country representative, RoX.Advokate, and the best Terran player from Ukraine, MYM.Strelok.

The Ukrainian player Strelok managed to make his way to the top by defeating the likes of Lowely, Androide or his teammate White-Ra, while Advokate won against players like gOgna, ALF or u3. Since Strelok was coming from the winner bracket, he had the 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 finals, which proved to be crucial, as Advokate managed to take the first game, only to accept defeat in the next one: final score, Strelok 2 – 1 Advokate.

As for the ASUS Spring 2008 podium, Ukrainians and Russians were the ones that occupied all the spots:

2nd placeRussian Fede- Terran RoX.Advokate$420
