One distinctive trait about DotA is it's constant change. IceFrog is always adding, balancing and changing the new maps that come out. Due to this, it takes a long time before a map is "stable" and leagues and tournaments are stuck on the same map for a long time. 6.48b has been widely used for competitive play for months now. It's always the same heroes being drafted, the same core heroes that are overpowered!

Well now we have decided to do something a little different. Every two weeks, myMYM will conduct a mock draft with your favorite teams and player. A mock draft is when a player or team pretends they are drafting heroes for real in a match, but it is just for fun and demonstration!

Of course, they will be drafting for one of the new maps, 6.52. In this map there have been a handful of changes. The most important changes however, are all the nerfs on the core heroes, the addition of 2 more hero bans in -XL and the numerous changes in the neutrals spawns on both sides.

The mock drafts will show you how drafting will change in the future when the new maps are implemented into league play. There will also be a small panel of judges to discuss which team or player has the better hero selections and why.

The mock drafts will implement MYM Prime Defending rules, but there is one change. Each team will be banning 4 heroes each instead of 3 due to the change in -XL in 6.52. Bans will now be in a 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 format and hero drafts are still 1-2-2-2-2-1.

Sharing items has also changed, now that no pooling has been implemented into the map. Regeneration items can stil be shared, but there is an icon to show if the item belongs to the player or not.

Teams must conduct the drafts on IRC, with the panel present. Once drafting has concluded, the teams will play out the match on Garena. First pick and Second pick will be determined either by a coin toss or a -roll in game! At the end of the third week, the panel will decide which out of the six teams that participate who are the kings of hero drafts! Good luck to all the participants and happy drafting!

There will be a total of 3 mock drafts, spanning in six weeks. Get ready to watch your favorite teams test out competitive play on the newest map!
