PaTo leaves mTw and goes inactive

Brazil Nightelves Bernardo 'PaTo' Rodrigues, who is probably the best Brazilian Warcraft player to date, decides to go inactive to focus more on studies.

PaTo, as a player and manager (from time to time), has always shown great manner in his games and his departure will make a lot of people grieve. His last show will be on KODE5 Grand Finals, Moscow.

PaTo at ESWC
Pato at ESWC

In an interview with Fnatic.com, he stated that his departure is not only due to studies but teamspirit in mTw as well.

Well, in the past (hoorai, sca, u5 etc) we were a team that always helped each other, talked a lot and had fun! Maybe it's just me not the rest of the team but I don't feel much of that atmosphere any more and I found it really boring, don't like to stay like a robot unfortunately.

Being asked about the new Koreans and if their arrival has affected his decision, he replied:

Hmm I can't say that because I didn't even speak with them, but well I would for sure get less playtime *Laughs* (if I had any playtime)

He might get back as a manager or commentator after a while however, but he has not confirmed it.

Here at myMYM.com we wish him the best of luck and hope to see him again soon.

lemme guess, pato is actually a name taken from a brazilian player who likes to play with his head more than feet?

No, Alexandre Pato (Milan's soccer player) started playing like one and a half years ago... Warcraft's Pato started way before that...

so you're sure pato wasnt actually known in brasil before more than 1 or two years ago? could be pato is just a popular name, like john or fps_doug

Yes, I'm sure... I'm brazilian and Alexandre Pato started playing in a club from the city where I live...

And Pato is not a common name... Pato means duck in portuguese, so it'b kinda strange... is just a coincidence (I goess that Alexandre Pato doesn't play Warcraft to want to use mTw.PaTo's name...)

oke :) figured pato was a celebrity long before he went to europe :)
it's weird someone becomes a pro football player in less than 2years, he must be an incredible talent then

It's kinda of normal to see soccer players leaving Brazil after playing only 1 year, even less, in the teams here...

An example is Manchester United's Anderson played six months in Brazil and was sold to Europe...

no i meant how can a person become top class after playing football for less than two years.

meaning pato must have played football from his early childhood and not just for the last 2years, meaning he must have had fans long before going to europe :D anyway..

If force won't work, use greater force.

@ Dendra; I think you're right, since I was in an Internet Café @ Manaus, Brazil, where a guy next to me called himself PaTo as well ;)

Anyways, he was one of my favorites, GG w3-

Quoting Dendra:

so you're sure pato wasnt actually known in brasil before more than 1 or two years ago? could be pato is just a popular name, like john or fps_doug

actually the soccer player has his "name" from the city he was born in (pato branco, PR).
bernardo pato just uses pato as his nickname (pato in portuguese means duck)
i dunno if bernardo has any specific reason to use it as a nickname.
