CESO2008 postponed

The administration team behind the upcoming China E-Sports Open has announced that the event will be postponed for an undefined period of time due to Olympic-related activities in Beijing.

myMYM has roughly translated the official press release from the organization:

The China E-Sports Open has attracted lots of attention from media and fans alike from all over the world. It took us a short period of 3 weeks to organize this tournament. We have invited the teams, found a venue, reserved tickets for flights and hotels, contacted lots of media. Basically, we have tried our very best to make this an extraordinary tournament for every Warcraft 3 fan.

And now, just 10 days before the tournament starts, we have received a notice from the Chinese government stating that the venue will be used for Olympic-related activities. In order to have a smooth-running of the tournament, we have tried every method to keep the event going but to no avail.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deep regrets in this matter, and apologize to every team that was supposed to take part in this event. Hopefully, we will be able to hold CESO2008 once the Olympics is over.

Once again, we apologize for everything.
