NiceGameTV has announced a side event ‘AWL Masters’, following the conclusion of the third season of AWL which saw SK.Lyn successfully defending his title.

The AWL Masters will garner 10 of Korea’s best professional players who have managed to perform exceptionally well in all 3 seasons of AWL. Overall winner Season 1, wicked.SocceR and current defending champion, SK.Lyn have automatically been seeded on top of their respective groups, while their remaining peers will have to battle their way up.

While it has been announced that the first phase of the tournament will be held online, NiceGameTV has yet to confirm if there will be an offline finals held in Yong san, Seoul.

The overall champion of the AWL Masters will bring home $6000, and the runner-up will earn himself $3000.

The first two matches of Group A will start at 0900CET on 1st April, and Group B’s games will kick off at the same time on the 3rd of April.

Unfortunately, second runner-up of AWL Season 3 SK.ReiGn will receive a default victory over Bet.Sweet, who has decided to pull out of the event.

Update: The remaining games will be played next Saturday, April 12th at 0800 CET in Yonsan, Seoul. However, fnatic.Space has been allowed to play at the comfort of his home. Winners of Group A and B will then be playing against each other in the Grand Finals.

Update #2: AWL Champions, SocceR and Lyn will be playing against each other in the Grand Finals.
