* Patch 1.22 test server online
After testing the patch by a small group, Blizzard announced a few hours ago that the patch will go online for public testing later this week. Blizzard community manager 
Karune announced a few hours ago that the Developer team is preparing Test server for public testing. In order to do so you have to upgrade your game version to test the patch.
After the patch is final you have to downgrade back to 1.21b and upgrade to the final version 1.22. They will also gather feedback on their forums if you got any suggestions or bugs to report.
Follows the full update on the patch:

Upon completion of the testing on the public test server, those participating will have to downgrade their version of the game back to the latest retail patch. We will also be using Battle.net forums to gather feedback and bug reports from the community. Exact location of this forum is still to be determined." |
UPDATE:
Blizzard's Community Manager "Karune" posted an update on the new WarcraftIII 1.22 Test server. It will be, as guessed by the community again, the Westfall Test Server which served already as a testserver for various previous patches. For more information read the full post and changelog below:

Westfall Test Server - When players select the PTR in their server list, they will then be able to log in and update their client to patch 1.22. When players select a different server, their client will automatically patch back to 1.21b. [waiting for server live confirmation from development] April 1st, 2008 - Unfortunately, there has been last minute issues that will prevent the patch from going live on public test servers today. I understand the overwhelming excitement to get into the PTR server to test the new patch and have no desire to give you news of the patch's delay. Nonetheless, I would like to remind everyone that we are almost there and I will continue to give you updates on the patch's progress. The first question I am already working on is how long the delay is. The updates on this will be posted here when I find out: link The second question you probably have is why the patch didn't go live today. Here is reason from our Producer, "At the last minute we found a problem with the patch which could break the installs of a small percentage of users." Again, they are only working to make sure the testing and final patch goes smoothly as well as betters your current gameplay experience of Warcraft III. Please be patient as there will be more updates. Please also keep discussion about the Patch Notes. Here are the Patch Notes for 1.22: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patch 1.22 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- FEATURES - There is now a replay auto-save feature in the options menu. Replays are automatically saved to the "replay" folder. - Added an option to always show unit and building health bars. - You can now enable and disable the display of minimap signals from players and other observers using chat commands: /showminimapsignals and /hideminimapsignals. BALANCE CHANGES HUMAN - Scout Tower repair rate changed from 12 to 20. - Knight damage increased: Attack cooldown changed from 1.50 to 1.40 and base damage increased from 25 to 28 (Average damage is 34). UNDEAD - Increased Ziggurat base armor from 1 to 5. - Reduced the build time of the Necropolis from 120 to 100. NIGHT ELF - Reduce the Orb of venom poison duration from 10 seconds to 8 seconds. - Increase the experience gain from Dryads from Level 2 (40xp) to Level 3 (60 xp). FIXES - The cooldown on unlimited usable items (example: the staff of preservation) now persists after the item is dropped or traded. - A cooldown exploit with potions has been fixed. - When you unburrow a Crypt Fiend, its auto-cast will no longer be toggled off. - An exploit bug in which items could lose their cooldowns when transferred between heroes has been fixed. ADDITIONAL MAPS Furthermore, these 4 new contest winner maps will be included in the final patch, but not on the PTR: - (2)MeltingValley - (2)RoadToStratholme - (4)CentaurGrove - (4)TidewaterGlade |
UPDATE #2: Patch 1.22 is finally running on the test servers. To try it, follow the following instructions:
1. Start -> Run -> Type 'regedit'
For example, it should look like this: beta.battle.netSave it and open Warcraft 3. From there you will be able to see the new realm. Enjoy! |

scout towers nerf is the worse nerf they could do about towers....beside the balance in the mu, ud vs hum is so broken because ud strats are limited by "prevent him from building towers and exp, or u lose". we are encouraged to play even more in this way now....when u have something imba (towers) the solution is never to nerf the chance to get them up, but to nerf they effectiveness once they are up, so that they can go up and its not auto win, and the other can play strats not only thinking of countering 1 building.
A little nerf to damage for example would be great. anyway these are not even half the changes needed....what about fountains of health, they alone can make a map imba and tome of exp? and ultimates of dh panda dl am etc etc? they just break the game | |

Weak blizzard takes almost 2 years to beat this, or believe rather than animate it will discourage the wc3 now, and the orcs vao change does not have to increase somewhat weak race and we ms well we work!! But that was the worst blizzard of all waited a long time af: (

The update sounds great, especially the nelf nerfing. Glad to see blizzard finally opened their eyes on the whole dryad experience thingy. Might just start play wc3 again when 1.22 comes out :P

but....its already a tooooo smalll patch!!!!!! :( i thought it will be some big changes or at least some new things (items,hero tavern or more maps like for 3v3 or4v4) but i see nothing than poor patch report ( and a little one) :(

It would appear this patch will mean Grubbys tower defense may no longer be needed as the extra unit or two it costs early in the game would be more useful to take down towers.
Perhaps a 5th grunt will be produced while building beastiery / Spirit Lodge to help stop tower rushes easier. This patch looks good for MYM however with its 2 UD pla I think the 2 biggest imbalance fixes that they missed were to nerf upgraded gryphons to ORC v HU and a nerf to TC stomp to balance ORC v UD. Having anti-magic potions available would help fix NE using dotts vs ORC also. There was also no fun factor change by buffing unused caster units. :( Last edited by Contrail at 04.04.2008, 02:00
