Blizzard WC3 patch update
The Blizzard's eSports team had a major discussion with Rob Pardo, (Senior Vice President of Game Design), and Chris Sigaty, (Lead Producer of StarCraft II), Dustin Browder (Lead Designer of StarCraft II),and David Kim (Balance Designer of StarCraft II) regarding the balance issues of the upcoming Warcraft 3 patch.
Some hours ago, the community manager of Blizzard who goes by the moniker of 
Karune posted some details on the upcoming patch of 1.21b and 1.22.
The good news is that they will be releasing the 1.21b patch next week. However, the bad news is that patch will just be a mere NO-CD Patch which allows you to play Warcraft 3 without having the CD in your disc drive.
Nonetheless, the highly anticipated 1.22 patch will include some balance fixes, and possibly additional Battle.net features which aims to add more longevity to online gaming.
The following quote is taken off from Karune's post at the official Blizzard forums:

Many of the balance changes mentioned by both professional eSports players and the community alike, such as 'nerfs' to Human Guard Tower repair rates are on the top of the balance list for these rounds of discussion. When balance changes are more solidified, I will give you an update on what these may be, and a better approximate release time. Furthermore, there is the possibility of additional Battle.net features to be added in Patch 1.22 that would further add to the longevity of the game online. Patch 1.21b, the 'no CD' patch for Warcraft III is being signed off as we speak, and is aiming at a release for next week. |
