Shortly after the unveiling of the South African stop, KODE5 has announced yet another qualifier with the objective to revolutionize gaming to the globe.
This time it will be held in Japan with a twist; players will only be able to compete in Warcraft 3, which leaves the Counter-Strike fans out of the context.
A total of 2 pre-qualifiers will be held online. The first will be taking place on the 26th of January 2008, while the other will be on the following week, 2nd of February 2008. Winners will then advance to play in the regional finals at ADsquare Internet Complex located in Tokyo, Japan. Furthermore, players in attendance will also be able to take part in other events, including CounterStrike: Source, Team Fortress 2, DotA, and Warsow.
Keisuke Tashiro, Chair of the KODE5 Japan 2008 Organizing Commission said to KODE5’s official website: “It is a great honor to have such great gaming event, KODE5, in Japan. It will be a good opportunity for Japanese gamers to enjoy playing games competitively and also challenges the elite gamers around the world to experience an unforgettable moment”
However one of the best players in Japan,
ENZA remains undecided on attending the tournament, citing financial issues as the main problem.
More statements from the respective organizers can be read on KODE5’s official website.
