AWL Season 4 to go international

With the second season of AWL drawing close to an end, and the qualifiers for season 3 getting underway, the AWL has yet again revealed their plans for its 4th iteration.

As many may already be aware, the 4th season of AWL will involve a mix of Korean, Chinese and European players. This season will feature 16 players, with 4 from each region; Korea, China and Europe. Top 4 finishers from season 3 will automatically be seeded in the following season.

Qualifiers will be held for each region and all matches, including groupstage and single elimination will be held online with the exception of the Grand Finals and Consolation finals, which will be held in Seoul, Korea.

Korea, South Oh Seong-Kyun, commentator for AWL told myMYM.com: “Right now we are still negotiating with our sponsors for the fourth season’s prize money.

“I estimate that it will approximately be around in the US$15,000 – US$20,000 range.”

With the fourth season of AWL going international, this may present yet be another opportunity to enliven the Warcraft community in Korea again.

More details of this tournament will be announced in the coming months at myMYM.com.

we get enough of invitational tourneys with same old players
The idea is good for business but not that good for the Korean scene, old players like NangChun,Star or upcoming like Reprisal will not have the chance to compete
A pure Korean championship is much more interesting and competitive

Anyway money is still the main factor

#1 well there will be qualifiers in every region for the "4 players" the newer players have to proove themselves there. So its not like a random-invite-16-pro-tournament
