MYM | Loord: "It's like playing for FC Barcelona"

In a very interesting interview with one of our five new Counter-Strike 1.6 star players, a lot of truths are revealed. This interview was done by Frag-Executors.com who decided to talk with Poland Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski, whom explains a lot about the time in Poland PGS, one of the biggest polish eSport-organizations, and furthermore about their current time in Meet Your Makers.

Having a great year of 2007, everything seemed to escalate during the last period of the year, but with some bad perfomances in some tournaments, the team experienced some depression, which in the interview got explained as only a temporary period for the team, who longs and hopes for great succes in the new year. Starting bad against danish-reformed  Denmark Spirit of Amiga, this depression still hunts the team, but this should, according to Loord, be changing soon.

Excerpt of the interview with Loord

Ziggy: Hello Mariusz. Your playing for MYM above one month now, how does it feel to be in such powerful organization?

Loord: Hi. For me, personally, this is an excellent feeling. At last, we represent one of the biggest organizations in the world with unlimited possibilities and the best global WC3 division! Maybe it won't be a good comparison, but this is like playing for FC Barcelona or Real Madrid. I'm proud of being here.

Did you make up your mind about leaving PGS during those "holidays?" When did you decide the moment that you said to yourselves "STOP, we're leaving?"

This moment was there every day, just since we got to "City of Angels" we were wondering what have we done to PGS that they punish us like that. We landed in L.A.- the weather is ideal, there are palms, women... and we don't know what we're supposed to do or where we should go. We landed in one of the biggest metropolis in the world and we even haven't had a place to stay for a night. We had to do everything on our own hand, starting with renting a flat in hotel for the first night and finishing with legendary 10 thousand PLN which I had to spend for accommodation. It was hard to contact our old organization, there were moments when we thought that they avoided us because they didn't answer phones or emails. So that's why I used the "Holidays" word, because it matches properly. We never go for tournaments with thought of visiting, resting or partying. We always have one goal, win the tournament. I guess that's why we're different than other top world teams. Unfortunately this event was unlike others, we didn't feel comfortable because EVERYTHING was paid from our pockets. Naturally PGS gave us this money back but think about all thoughts which were filling our minds. Nobody thought about the tournament. It was a moment when we said to each other that it cannot be like that and we have to do something with it. So then we said "STOP."

Having left PGS due to various problems, it was stated by Loord that some of the reasoning was due to the lack of the support from the organization, which left the team with the need to focus on a lot of other aspects, such as looking for a place to live e.g. instead of focusing on CS 1.6. With a need to dedicate and focus on Counter-Strike, the chance to play well and work hard to win a tournament wasn't easy to do when having these problems. As loord stated this was the wish, because the team always wants to win the attended tournaments. In other aspects we've, according to Rakaka.se, seen the former team Sweden EYEBALLERS spend their money on partying instead of focusing on CS 1.6, which shows how much dedication and focus means when playing.
