Since I was a little kid, I've had an urge for competition. And for the most of the competition, I've felt that I had an edge. I competed everywhere; In the school, while playing board-games with my family and in all physical activities. I played football (soccer) until I was fifteen, winning a couple of regional championships and even getting a call-up for one of the regional "national team trainings". In the end I decided to focus more on the school than on the football-pitch, but I never lost my interest in neither competition or football.
Now, I'm the kind of person that likes to read alot and likes to be updated on all my interests. Therefore it was an easy transfer for me to go from playing football, to watching and reading about football. When I started working at the age of 13, I had already picked up the point of sportsbetting. I knew that the difference between winning a losing depended on both luck and knowledge. With the help of my father I started to bet on some of the matches. While my father taught me a little about odds and how to do things, he didn't interfer with my picks. He did put a limit to my betting though, saying that I could only use 15€ a month on it.
Since then, I've developed my bettingame quite a bit. Normally I put some 100€ into it, playing them up and drawing them out. Of course I have lost money too, but in the long run I have won.
While I was getting more into betting, I also started playing poker. As I got more and more exposed to it, I sat down and read a couple of the various articles on the subject. I then made a deposit and tried it out. While I got instantly hooked on the game itself, I quickly found out that I needed to work a lot with it. The tournament-game fits my fast-forward and very loose/aggressive style, while I tended to "blow up" and make dumb decisions while playing cash-games. In the last couple of months, I have really upped both my tournament- and my cash-game to a level that I'm quite happy with. I don't think that I can live of either poker or betting, but I think that both can be winning games for me. And that's my main concern.
