'Imbalance" is a word that needs to be understood. There are many ways to classify this word. Some might used it when they lost a game due to a tower rush or a ghoul rush or cause they got beaten by a lower skilled player who just out smarted them.

Now, I'll give a brief description of how to take the word "Imbalance" in Warcraft III or any other game. I wouldn't be able to fully make the word differentiate but I'll try by doing a quick example.

An example would be MYM]Moons game. Everyone knows how Moon plays especially in the last IEST 2006 in which he beat WE.IGE.SKY, which was a big victory. Try comparing that match with WEG master 2006 MOONS performance. Moons play wasn't the same in both cases. He lost in WEG but won in IEST.
Moon used the same strats in Twisted Meadows but different heroes. Firelord first in WEG and Demon Hunter in IEST, he even surprised everyone by going PITLORD as his 3rd hero choice. But adding the PITLORD made the game exciting and made MOON pretty strong in a more IMBALANCE manner.

What I mean to say is Sky had to face a 3 heroes. Demon hunter, Naga Sea witch and the Pitlord. Instead of 2, since there is no rule of using 2 or 3 or 1 heroes it was fair. But to Sky the game got carried away by Moon because last time he faced a fairly balance strat compare to his, i.e Archmage, Naga, Casters, Rifle and Summons.. But in IEST Moon had to be the imbalance one to win the game. The point here is the game isn't fully Imbalance as players think it is, If you ask most Undead players what they want in the next patch, they'll say Reduce RAIDER ensnare duration, what if the next patch reduced the ensnare duration, its not going to make all UNDEAD players beat good ORCS or Grubby.

The main conclusion is that when a player beats another player by attacking the players weakness, i.e I beat a Night elf player by ghoul rushing him and if he lose DOES that mean the game is IMBALANCE?, no its just the general strategy I used if he was smart he could have used a better hero or used a strategy to fend off the push. Since each race in Warcraft III has its own weakness and strength we forget the fact that losing due to the race weakness doesn't mean the game is IMBALANCE, if we check the replay of the game we lost then we realise that there were mistakes leading to defeat of the game.

So next time when playing WC III remember there's no such thing as "IMBALANCE" in the game or in the race your playing, if you look back at your replay you'll realise the mistakes. I hope you'll find out the true meaning of "IMBALANCE".

P.S: Its not the game its the players who talk and say more about "IMBALANCE" than how imbalance the game really is.

Hmm... I've read through it twice now, and still I'm having problems understanding most of the text. Not because of grammar or spelling, but the text itself seems extremely confusing to me.

"But adding the PITLORD made the game exciting and made MOON pretty strong in a more IMBALANCE manner. "

One of us must really have misunderstood what people mean with imbalance... that sentence just does not make any sense to me.

If I was to write an article on my views about imbalance I would just sum it up in one sentence: "Something that player x can do to win a game with against his opponent player y, who cannot do anything to stop it."

Well, it does make sence. Although nothing new you can read here, such contributions appear from time to time. From my point of view -- imbalance is an excuse for your lose ©

Imbalance = unfair advantage for one team over another. What else is there to say without getting specific?
