I remember when I was about 7 or 8 years old(roughly 20 years ago) I was rooting around in the attic and found my moms old casset tapes. First one I poped into the player was Black Sabbath my life was immediately altered. Ive been listening to heavy metal, death metal, black metal, industrial metal, and some rock and roll ever since.

Casset tapes were the shit but got expensive I remember going through 3 And Justice for All... tapes before cds became affordable. No telling how many countless hours I spent making mixed tapes for the road and to keep my lady friends juicey on long country drives. ^^

This post traced my memory back 4-5 years ago when i first started to learn breakdance, i was absolutely into hip hop and drums http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW5liJ2EQhM
But after a serious injury on the back i couldnt do breaking anymore, so instead, i started to teach yoga and Taichi with soul/harp music and in love with movie soundtracks, namely, 'Vertical Limit' 'Lord of the Rings' 'Mummy Returns' and so forth... and hanging on lastfm as #17 said all day long xD

When i started my uni 3 years ago, it was also the time i came across with Warcraft and World of Warcraft, i love the soundtracks!! i literally have all the collection still.

Good thing that you blogged about music. In my opinion, it's nice to read a blog entry which may deviate from the regular gaming posts I read in here (even if I am fully aware that this is a gaming site. It's fun to be a rebel at times, right? ;p )

Anyhoo, I have also my piece of love story in music. I like some genres too but my music taste ranges from alt-metal. I also dig the classics like Debussy and Bach :D . I took alternative as a lullaby and metal as mood setter when I draw. I admire female-fronted bands and the Finnish metal scene. Yes, I have been dellussioned of playing "Sad But True", "Nothing Else Matters" and "Sweet Child O' Mine" by either air guitaring or air drumming and lamented during Dimebag's death. But for the the long run, I never cease to love Nine Inch Nails, Tool, and A Perfect Circle. Tho some might find these bands "not their type of music" but I guess everyone has their own preferences :D and I am just privileged to be immersed in a wide variety of music genre.

I don't believe that music alone defines a person.

My taste in music varies from like fusion jazz all the way to death metal. I'm into a lot of progressive and alternative stuff like Primus, Porcupine Tree and Opeth to name just a couple of my favorites.

I also enjoy very much anything with a cool bass line in it. The electric bass must be the coolest instrument ever.
