Well, this article started of from a project that I had for school but since it's e-sport related I've decided that i should at least publish my conclusions and last opinion on this matter.

After countless of reading, exploring, interviewing, personal reflexions. and burring myself on medical researches regarding the difference between female and male brain I think I have managed somehow to get to the bottom of this case. It's useless to publish my entire medical research (somewhat harder to understand for ppl with little to no experience in the field, or to raise any interest) i have tried to simplify and bring it to you into an understandable language. If you are interested in reading more seek at the bottom of my article for some of the links that I have used for my research

Leaving aside the physical aspect which is not extremely obvious but also incredible irrelevant in this case (no strength, endurance.. etc involved), I have concentrated my research on the brain which is most used to coordinate or help you while playing computer games. And even if it was studied and proved that females do process information lot faster specially starting with young scholar (6-10/11 y.o. age) pre-teen ( 10-14) and teenager years (15-19/20), even if the callous body, which bonds the both hemispheres, is much better represented in female brain, and even if females hemispheres are equal (males have right side better developed) allowing them to multitask much better it does NOT influence the ability to play games, nor do they hold any superiority in it.
Anatomical speaking both, females and males are equally equipped to perform and do well in this. Just because you are you are a male or on the contrary a female doesn't mean you are either superior, neither inferior, you are just equal. What is not equal in all this is the perception of the masses.

Being one of the few is not singular the case where i have came across of being directly flamed or push aside just because I was the odd one out. Perhaps those ppl who say "women belong in the kitchen" or other remarks of this kind feel incredible smart after saying it in truth reality begs to differ.

I have mainly started this research to find out if all this down talk I have found had any real bases but in the end I have found none whatsoever.

Everything seems to be ruled and manipulated by one single factor.. MASS-MEDIA!. It is said that media is the 4-th power in the world but sometimes I have the feeling it's much more to it. The media can easily change opinions. Either we talk about a real life event either we talk about a virtual one everything spins around Media. And since e-sports it's a real money spinner why not manipulate a bunch of naive teenagers for your own benefits? (considering the fact the average age of e-sports spins around 16-19).

If I come to think about it.. ever since I've made my computer (i have a 2.4 gig one) the cpu speed didn't greatly increased since then. They have somewhat reached a dead end, more or less. They most likely have to come up with a bran new technology which will allow another speed boost. They only things which have greatly improved on the other hand is everything gaming related. Starting with mice and ending up with graphic cards. And now tell me how is the easiest way to manipulate a bunch of boys if not with the use of girls?

In a way it sickens me to see how they use this. It's a chain or cycle you simply cannot brake. Imagine that you are a girl, obviously you don't have the gaming experience, you are perceived wrong by many but also good by others and how can you stay in business and do something you like and share the passion of with your 'better half'? well easy answer, something which women had to do through out the centuries, sell themselves.

The truth is, sex sells so damn good, and most likely always will. What I call all this is internet prostitution coz if you come to think about it, it's about the same thing. Okay no direct sex is involved but still for girls to stay in business they have to sell themselves, they imagine mostly and the pictures speak for themselves.

In a way all this reminds of a song called Stupid Girls - P!NK. where is that president woman? well dancing next to 50 cent (nothing against him :p). It's a whole trend which annoys the shit outta me to be honest because you can find it through out all lvls not just gaming. It's a whole new direction which dominates the entire society.

It also annoys me because I know women can prove their worth differently than showing more than their breasts or their asses to succeed. One thing is for sure that to have a proper image and be acknowledged anywhere you have to work 10 times harder to reach in the same point male are. How many want to work that extra mile and give that extra effort to it, to reach it? too little it seems. Taking the easy path seems too damn convenient even if that one includes selling yourself and then again why not? Why not if that means fulfilling a dream of yours?

Also it reminds about a blog which I have recently made called "requiem for a dream". I cannot say which one is the correct path, all i know is I was also in the point of wishing something extremely bad to be willing to go till the end of me, so who am I to judge or say what is best?

I would say I would never sell myself but there is another saying "never say never" . Life always awaits you at the corner of your dark alley to prove you wrong.

I only hope that I find enough strength to learn to compromise but never to compromise myself and be able to make my dreams come true, no matter what kind they are.

I would Like to thank all the ppl who helped me with this project (my school project one which seems that it will be made public in a psychology magazine).

Figured this would come up eventually. Very nice work. Yeah, a lot of it does have to do with gender bias in the media. But also I guess the defined roles that where developed over the centuries, that where passed down, and changed, from parents to children throughout the ages. But that hopefully people will get with reality one day, and see the world is changing rapidly, since we do not run around swinging swords any more, well at least most of us don't any way. People have always tried to sperate themselves by putting themselves in different groups, to be better than everyone else, instead of one large group and no one being any better than anyone else. In the future hopefully a lot of the barriers will be broken, so everyone can be more unified. But I don't know maybe I am asking too much, since as Humans, it's in out nature to destroy ourselves.

Any how, everything off to the side, very well written and researched. Maybe this will open some peoples eyes to what they have been blind to.

#1 The thing is, even here (MYM) i can see how obvious they separate the things when comes to female which does NOT! help at all.

For example here on mym if you go to the members section, males have a blue background and females have a pink one. Now, tell me why do they have to draw the line so obvious. Aren't nicks and pics obvious enough? why this stereotypical bullshit with blue and pink?

It kind of annoys me because marking a clear distinction only helps deepens the differentiation in perceiving of females in e-sports field. Sure it brings media attention and few extra sign ups but in truth they have no clue how much wrong they are also doing :/.

Sorry no offense intended to MYM although.

I hope this will be an eye opener for many and they will stop being stupid little toys in all this scheme society and be able to see the TRUE reasons behind it. To ultimately be able to take a stand against it, to be able to say NO! to the manipulation.

#2 Thanks ShamRock, appreciated ;).

#5 You see things from a different point of view, your view my dear, which I as a private person agree upon. But as a businessman I see them from a business point of view, creating visibility, creating fans, branding my brand and that I do best by seperating things and yes putting them into a box sometimes :) In love and war, all means neccessary are allowed.

#6 sorry I don't agree and most of all I don't agree with the saying 'in war everything is allowed' (approx) NOT when it costs lives (in war at least) that's bullshit.

I believe this life has a lot more to offer than this.

ehhhhh back on those pills.. blue ones or pink ones?

the world doesn't belong to anyone actually.

maybe it 'belongs' to those holding the gun. Do you think it will make a difference the fact that I'm a female if i hold a gun pointed at you?

You were talking about the world and who owns it.. and i said it doesn't belong to anyone.

Perhaps it's not directly connected to it.. everything comes in relation it entwins.

considering the fact the question regarding 'who's world is', is directly linked to domination and power. I've used the symbol ' gun' as ultimate power. in front of it the gender differences disappear and also it doesn't matter of u are poor or rich. u are equal.
It was a metaphora :).

I have always wondered that too #16, but as long as people keep putting up barriers to separate themselves from one another, and try to seem superior over one 'group' or another, I guess that will never happen, at least not in any of our life times, if we make the same mistakes as our parents, and their parents before them.

#17 equality doesn't exists in truth and having a ranking order is not all that bad. some ppl are better (prepared, knowledgeable, qualified..ect) than others are so differences have to be made. But i hope it will not be biased and it will be made on a fair criteria.

Yeah, Humans Rights act I think it was called, and then there was some other law that employers can't discriminate based on gender, national orgin, ethnicity, etc. But there are still some cases where that is not so.

I am not sure although that the law you are talking about doesn't just refer to USA. I know for a fact that law exists there but it might be under labor Law and Regulation and not in human rights as well. But then again i might be wrong.

Perhaps someone more in domain could tell us.

I didn't mean to infer that the one about employer discrimination was under Human Rights.
I was trying to refer more to this.

This is funny. Everyone says muscles and fysical strength doesn't matter, when really that's where the real boundries begun. We're stronger alright, don't hate us because of it :P

But these days my personal opinion on equality for man and woman would have to be: Remove ALL lines, or none. You see it everywhere; woman crying and whining because they're not treated equally, and when it comes to things like millitary serives or even down to the 60m run in school, they either get off the hook or get handicaps. I don't see em complain about that, so like I said, ALL or NONE ;)

Thx for the article iubi, interesting topic!

so what does this article tell me anyway? that there is no biological advantage for male nor female ppl when it comes to "mind games"? this shouldnt be looked on anyway because adjudging an advantage for any group of ppl just creates this "handicap thinking" and discrimination with it. everything that should be looked on is the results the particular ppl show. theres no reason at all to search for a reason for one group of ppl showing less good results if that is the case. then they just need to practice more.

"One thing is for sure that to have a proper image and be acknowledged anywhere you have to work 10 times harder to reach in the same point male are."

any examples for that? else it is just an empty assertion to me. didnt you state that there is no advantage for males/females when it comes to gaming before?

"It kind of annoys me because marking a clear distinction only helps deepens the differentiation in perceiving of females in e-sports field."

that is right. as long as people are put into such boxes and not looked on and talked about as gamers (in the gaming case) instead of separating male and female it wont get better. you cant break discrimination while using the same boxes you want to remove. thats why all this emancipation stuff some women are up to wont do any good. in this point i agree with kru
it wont help to say we need a specific number of female employees in any profession because this would favor them over some male ones independant of the performance they can present.

it may not be a problem to have separate colours for female and male gamers at mym though, but why has it to be the fucking biased pink again? thats too much again. why not ask the girls which colour they'd like there? :o

You are wrong, nobody says that physical strength is unimportant, on the contrary. You can't have women and men treated equally as they are NOT! equal... not when comes to physical strength. yes men HAVE more body strength and endurance. In fact no woman denies this but when labor involving less physical abilities (like for example working in a company) women SHOULD be treated fair, be given the opportunity to advance in their job same as men and be payed the same wages... etc.

#30 mind games? umm i think you got the wrong picture coz in my own personal dictionary computer games aren't included under the 'mind games' category :p.

Yes there are . Everything is very well documented. search in the links I have put at the bottom of it and even that guy Kim Ron agrees that a serious girl has to work a LOT harder to reach same state other girls reach just by using their image. And his GF was one of those girls. Examples are many but I wanted to keep my article somewhat short.

Who actually says women should go back to the kitchen? Especially when every1 knows men are better cooks than women.
The more apropiate thing to say is: go back to playing Sims!

I find nothing conclusive in your article except ur obvious hate for the colour pink!
This is a quote from one of the links given by you:
"The "father" of sociobiology, Edward O. Wilson, of Harvard University (10), said that human females tend to be higher than males in empathy, verbal skills, social skills and security-seeking, among other things, while men tend to be higher in independence, dominance, spatial and mathematical skills, rank-related aggression, and other characteristics."
And u still insist on the fact that males are equal to females when it comes to e-sports or as u put it "mind games" overlooking the fact that computer games are not the same thing as mind games, i mean chess is a mind game and it hardly requires the hand eye cordonation that gamers display in a FPS or RTS game.
How exactly are "spatial and mathematical skills, rank-related aggression" not better in e-sports than "empathy, verbal skills, social skills"?!

What exactly have u proven in your article besides a biased die-hard feminist attitude which u apply to every aspect of ur life?

You didn't even aproach the most important side of the subject of males vs females in e-sports which is results and history. When has there ever been a case of a woman competing at even a close level to her male counterparts in any pro-played computer game?

The fact is that there have been no notable achievments in e-sports on the female side. Even if women would be capable of the same eye hand cordonation and reflexes men in e-sports display, they lack the agression and die-hard attitude which is vital to bettering urself in e-sports.

I wish there were more females involved in e-sports (and by involved i dont mean reporting match results and/or making elf characters in WoW). I wish females would actually put their money where their mouth is and demand that there are no more separate CS leagues for males and females so every1 can see how equal we really are in this aspect.
