I thought about Buddhism as well when I wrote that reply to you. Buddhism is the only religion, well it can sort of seen as a way of life as well, that is not in war with anyone (speaking about the biggest religions).
Sure, I've gotta give you that living conditions have improved, but does that raise the quality of life? That is the big question.
To bring a whole new aspect into our "controversy", if you will, religion. Religion is by far the most disastrous thing to ever have been created. The good side is that it brings hope to people, the bad side is that throughout time most wars have been because of religion. Discarding any and all religions is the best thing that could happen right now.
What you said does make some sense, however, thoughts will not change the world. And the way I see it, the world is going a hundred miles per hour in the wrong direction.
