So guys, just to kick in something extra to our coverage this time, we are going to do live-blogging from the event. As I'm all alone in Moscow, this will be done solely by me, so I hope I can keep the pace up and report throughout the day.
12:21 - The current time is 12:21 in Moscow, and the first couple of CounterStrike Quarter-Finals are under way.
Roccat seems to be on the losing end against
MYM on de_train, only grabbing 7 rounds as terrorists. mTw.AMD vs. Hell Raisers is about to start on the stage.
12:24 - mTw is leading 3-1 on de_nuke currently, seemingly dominating their Ukranian opponents. In a few minutes I'll have some updates directly from the WC3-tournament. Aaaaand I am currently uploading picture which I can add here.

MYM is currently winning against Roccat

Roccat is not too shabby about their performance in the first half on de_train
12:32 -
Grubby is playing
Shy on Secret Valley at the moment. Right now, Shy is massing Tallons with a DH, Beastmaster and Tinker on the side.

Grubby watching a replay just before he is going up against Shy
12:36 -
MYM made a short process with
Roccat as CT on de_train. 8-2 and an overall win of 16-10 secures the first map for the Polish side. The next map will be de_dust2. Meanwhile, mTw.AMD is leading 8-4 against Hell-Raisers on de_nuke.
12:39 - All four quarterfinals in the CounterStrike-tournament is live now. Made in Brazil are sambaing their way over fnatic, giving them a hard time on de_dust. So far, the Brazilians are leading 10-5 after the CT-side on de_dust2.
12:40 -
ToD has lost his first map against
Soccer. The Korean Wicked-player took down Echo Isles, and the players are now heading for Terenas Stand. Let's see if the favourite to win the tournament can claw back.
12:50 - ToD has been knocked out after losing two straight maps. More coming up in a moment as the Internet is shitty atm.
13:12 - I just had to grab some food. mTw.AMD won their first map against Hell Raisers 16-5, SK Gaming also won their first map, defeating EG.USA with 16-10. The favourites for the CS-title here at KODE5, fnatic, lost against made in brazil. Word has it that the Brazilian team has bootcamped one month in Stockholm prior to the event, and will have another two months of bootcamping once this event is over.
13:20 - MYM was sweeping dust2 with Roccat as Terrorists, winning the first half 11-4. As CounterTerrorists, they have a hard time though. With their good T-play, Roccat has almost tied the match - only trailing by one round 11-10.
13:22 -
Grubby is also knocked out. The Dutch Orc-player enjoyed a good start against his former team-mate,
Shy, as he won Secret Valley. On Echo Isles and Twisted Meadow, the Nightelf-player conquered though, sending Grubby out on a shared 9-12th place.
13:25 -
Infi is also through to the Semi-finals, scoring an Asian hattrick here at KODE5. The only non-Asian player to progress beyond the Quarter-finals is HasuObs, who beat his team-mate Happy to get to the Semi-final.
You can see the Semi-finals in the WC3-tournament right here.
13:28 - The score between MYM and Roccat is currently 14-13 in favor of the Finnish team. Meanwhile, mTw is teaching Hell Raisers a lesson on how to defend on de_inferno. 10-3 is the actual standings and the Danish team seems like they have the game under control.
13:30 - The game between MYM and Roccat is now a tie, 14-14.
13:33 - mTw closed the first half with a 11-4 score, but lost the gunround as T on de_inferno. Hell Raisers will be looking to get back into the match.
13:34 - MYM won the match against Roccat, qualifying for the Semi-finals. Yours truly will be away for around 10-15 minutes while I try to grab a video-interview with the team.
13:57 - One interview with MYM conducted. I just met
ToD on the way back to the Press-area and he didn't seem too upset losing. He was smiling (!) as he and
RotterdaM had pictures taken with a Russian fan.

ToD in a surprising 2-0 loss against SocceR
14:01 -
SK Gaming proceeds after a clear win against
Team EG.USA. It seems like there is still some space between European and American CounterStrike, mr. Singlecoil ;-) fnatic and mibr are currently tied in maps and are playing the deciding map at the moment. It's de_inferno which is going to determine who is going up against MYM in the Semi-final, and right now it sounds like the Swedes has the upper hand.
14:08 - The Swedes are certainly leading out well on de_inferno. Currently they are in front 4-1, looking to qualify for the Semi-final.
14:09 -
HasuObs and
Infi are already battling it out in their Semi-final, and it looks like it can end up being both a boy and a girl. The German undead has the Racial advantage, but Infi has played close to perfect as of late.

Infi, the "new" Human Emperor from China
14:12 - HasuObs has almost levelled his Panda to lvl 5, which would give his breath a nice amount of damage. Can it tip the match in his favour?
14:15 - It couldn't. Infi takes down the first map "thanks to his Gyrocopters" - according to readmore. With that mapvictory, Infi almost has one foot in the final.
14:17 - Having bet on
SocceR as winner of the tournament, I'd really like him to win (odds 14.55 anyone?). Sadly he lost the first map against
Shy in the Semi-final. With SocceR in the ropes, the former MYM-player looks like he has set sail for his first major event-victory. The 2nd map is going to be Twisted Meadows.
14:24 - Next up is
SK Gaming versus
mTw.AMD on the stage. The Semi-final will be the first of the two. The second Semi-final is not yet determined as mibr and fnatic are still playing their Quarter-final to determine which team has to play MYM.
14:33 - To no surprise amongst the crowd,
HasuObs is out of the tournament after losing two straight matches to
Infi. The Chinese Human is the first player to enter the Grand Final here at KODE5. Twistead Meadows and Secret Valley were the maps.
14:36 -
Shy is also through to the Grand Final after beating
SocceR over two maps. Turtle Rock and Twisted Meadows did it for the fnatic-player.
14:39 -
fnatic is totally in the ropes. They are down 14-12 to
mibr on the last map and it seems like they could get eliminated soon. Oh and while I wrote this the score changed to 14-13, the Swedes are not dead yet!

fnatic had their build up to the tournament ruined by illness and lack of practise, but if eliminated, they died with their boots on.
14:46 - The whole tournament-area is buzzing, as one of the loudest roars where heard just moments ago.
fnatic came back from almost total elimination, as they managed to turn the tide and win against
mibr. The Brazilians are of course saddened with their defeat, as they have been practising like hell to be able to win the event. While not grabbing this event, it looks like they are back on track.

mibr - knocked out, but it looks good for the future
14:52 -
SK Gaming vs.
mTw.AMD is about to go live. Right now the teams are warming up for the match, while fnatic is taking a deserved break to get their nerves calmed down. When they are done with their break one of the most expected matchups awaits;
MYM vs.
fnatic in the Semi-final.
14:59 -
mTw.AMD just took the gunround against SK Gaming on de_inferno. Something that the crowd loved. The Danes are starting as Counter Terrorists on the map, and are likely to enjoy the support of the crowd here.
15:06 -
Sunde enjoys the backup from the crowd as he wins a 1on1 after being completely flashed and afterwards defusing the bomb. mTw are currently adding round after round to their tally, and are up by 7-1 at the moment. The crowd loves each time SK is being downed by the Danes, and it seems like SK has nothing in their arsenal that can stop "The Danish Dynamite".
15:10 - As usual the Danes are pretty loud. Together with Roccat, mTw is used to be one of the loudest of the contenders in the CS-field. Right now they also have something to cheer about. SK seems to have discarded the map already and are down by 13-1 on the T-side of de_inferno.
15:16 - Class dismissed. SK Gaming got taught a lesson in the first half, losing 14-1. mTw.AMD needs to get two rounds in order to take the map down.

The stage with SK on the right and mTw on the left

Spawn is using his headphones on the outside of his hat (?)

mTw.AMD cruising to victory
15:21 - SK Gaming is trying to mount a comeback here. Having grabbed the gunround, they succeeded in keeping the Danes behind them in the next two rounds. It seems like the Swedes are more comfortable with the defending side, having already gotten 4 rounds.
15:24 - mTw.AMD just grabbed their first round of the half, netting their 15th round. Right now SK needs to take the last 10 rounds to force the game into overtime.
15.28 - The Danes just finished off the match winning 16-5 on de_inferno. Next map is yet to be disclosed. While we are waiting I can give a brief update from the WC3-tournament. Next up overthere is
HasuObs versus
SocceR for the 3/4th place decider. According to readmore.de, it will be the biggest German performance if HasuObs can win the game. He will then tie the legendary SK-player Miou who placed 3rd at Acon4.
15:32 - While sitting here in the press-area where the temperature is near to 40 degrees celsius, I can see that the next map in
mTw vs.
SK Gaming is to be de_nuke. I also have a fresh quote from the mTw-manager guddo who were glad that they got the "easy bracket", facing SK Gaming and not fnatic or MYM here in the Semi-final.
15:48 - New pictures coming to the blog in some minutes. Just went out to grab some and in that timespan, the first half of de_nuke between mTw and SK is almost played. Right now
mTw.AMD is leading 7-4 as CT on the map which is often named as "the Swedish homemap". The Danish team struggled for the first 4 rounds, but has then come back to 8-4 right now. Impressive.
15:50 -
MYM vs.
fnatic should be live now. The derailed
mibr-players are sitting behind the MYM-team, hoping to see their Swedish rivals being knocked out by the Polish side. Meanwhile the audience is cheering for MJE and whiMp who just secured the 10th round in a row for mTw.AMD. If MYM pulls through against fnatic, and mTw can keep up their pace, we actually have a rematch of the ESWC 2007 Final this summer.

mTw - full concentration
16:00 -
HasuObs took the first map against
SocceR. Twisted Meadows was the first map and now they are battling it out on Terenas Stand. Can Hasu beat the Korean Nightelf and tie Miou for the best International event by a German WC3-player?

HasuObs won the first map of the 3rd place decider against SocceR
16:02 - Has
fnatic some sort of secret weapon against
MYM? Right now they are leading 8-2 on de_train, one of the favourite maps for the Polish side. 8-3, and fnatic is CT. Can MYM claw back?
16:03 -
allen just took down a fantastic round for SK Gaming, adding one more round to their lead as CT on de_nuke. The score is now 5-1 for SK in the second half and 12-9 for mTw overall.
16:07 - It seems like fnatic could take the first map down against MYM. They are currently leading 11 to 3 on de_train as Terrorists, and while nothing is impossible in CS, it seems like a big task for MYM to come back from that.

mibr is watching MYM playing against fnatic
16:09 -
SK Gaming is mounting a great comeback at the moment. 8-3 as Counter Terrorists now and 14-12 for
mTw.AMD in the big picture. If the Swedes can claw back and win this game, we might even see the team in the Grand Final. They still have to take down another map, but knowing that mTw are enjoying good runs and falling apart during bad runs, this map might turn it for SK.
16:12 - It's 14-14 now and mTw.AMD can't do anything right it seems. Once again they are stopped by the Swedish defenders and the score is now 15-14 for SK Gaming. RobbaN takes down a 1on1 and defuses the bomb - much to the pleasure of the crowd which are now rooting for SK.

zonic and MJE overwhelmed by the Swedish comeback
16:15 - SpawN is waving his hands for the crowd, making them go even wilder, as SK Gaming secure the final round on de_nuke. We are now heading for the 3rd map in this BO3-series.
16:16 - While SK Gaming and mTw.AMD has had their fair share of attention, fnatic are still disassembling MYM on de_train. Having won the first half 11-4, the Swedes once again got a good start as CT. They quickly secured a 3-0 lead, giving them a 14-4 lead overall. MYM has come back and added 3 rounds to their tally, but they have a lot of work ahead if they are going to win the map.
16:24 - Soccer takes the 2nd game and ties his match vs. HasuObs
16:32 -
MYM almost did it. They lost, but with some pride left, as they were edged out by
fnatic with 16-14. The next map is going to be de_inferno, while the last map (if MYM wins on inferno) will be de_nuke. The last map between
SK Gaming and
mTw.AMD is going to be de_train. That one is going live in some minutes, as the players are just out to grab a bit of fresh air.
16:40 - SK just took the first round on de_train as Terrorists. It seems like mTw could be going down now.
16:41 - The blog is going to be offline for a good half hour, as I am going to video-tape MYM's 2nd map against fnatic.
17:23 - I'm back with the blog and in the mean time,
mTw.AMD eliminated
SK Gaming in one hell of a game. After trailing a little bit as Counter Terrorists on de_train, the silver medalists at both ESWC 07 and WCG 07, gave SK a runaround as Terrorists. The intensity of the game was so big (and possibly the heat inside the venue had something to do with it too), that
Jonas 'whiMp' Svendsen from the Danish side were about to faint as he rushed off his chair. Only a quick reaction by the bystanders avoided that Jonas fell to the ground.
17:26 - The Grand Final in CounterStrike could easily end up being a Scandinavian affair, as MYM is currently being lectured by fnatic. 16-14 on de_train is currently being followed up by a 12-3 lead for fnatic on de_inferno. Next up is 2nd half of that game, where fnatic will play CT. Can they shut down MYM, they will be in their third Grand Final of the year, having won the previous two (NGL ONE and SEC).
17:29 - In the WC3-competition,
SocceR came back from his first loss versus
HasuObs, and swept away the last two games, securing him the 3rd place in that tournament. The Grand Final of the WC3-tournament will begin in around 30 minutes, where
Infi and
Shy will clash on three maps.
17:38 - Mohamed 'MJE' Eid has just entered the press-room. He feels confident if the team goes up against fnatic in the Grand Final, but acknowledges that the Swedes would be the favourites.
- It's probably a 60/40 in their favour as they have the higher seed, Eid said exclusively to myMYM.com.
- But we know where we have each other, and I feel that we have great chances to win a game against fnatic he continued.
- Overall I feel pretty confident that we can win this event now.
17:40 - MYM and fnatic are still playing on de_inferno, where MYM is currently trying to come back. So far they have done ok, grabbing all 5 rounds as T, getting to 12-8 overall.
17:48 - MYM is still not out, and the Grand Final in WC3 has just started. Nightelf vs. Human,
Shy vs.
Infi, Korea vs. China. I personally think that Infi will take this, but it is far too early to tell.
17:55 - The game between fnatic and MYM is currently almost tied. fnatic is leading 14-13, but the Polish side seems to have turned the tide and the "KURWA"-shouts are getting higher and higher. They just took yet another round, taking the match to a tie.
18:01 - MYM took down Inferno! This tournament isn't short of magical moments. MYM just extended their tournament life. Next up is de_nuke which is due to begin soon.
18:11 - Infi won the first game in the Grand Final, as he conquered on Turtle Rock. The 2nd game is currently live. Shy is having his problems defending his base on Echo Isles and has failed to get an expo up. It looks like a 2-0 victory for Infi if he can keep the pace up.
18:16 - The Archmage just went down, something that was awarded with loud applause from the audience. The Mountain King just fell, almost certainly giving Shy the game.
18:19 - Shy's Panda was so close to being downed but was saved with Staff of Preservation. Instead he has just lost his Naga typing "GG" for a 2-0 win to Infi. Infi is thus the new KODE5-champion, having beaten both Shy, XyligaN and HasuObs in the playoffs.
18:21 - The last map in the CounterStrike Semi-final is being played at the moment, and
MYM is leading out on de_nuke. After edging
fnatic out on de_inferno with a fantastic second half, it seems like the Polish side has the momentum with them. If they can put together a good defensive showing on de_nuke, they might have a chance to face mTw.AMD in the Grand Final later today.
16:34 - fnatic struck back at MYM, taking the match to a tie before MYM got at it again. Currently MYM in front 5-3, but the lead seems rather fragile when watching the concentration that fnatic possess.

Full concentration from fnatic

NEo and co. are also concentrated while trying to maintain their lead
18:37 - The game is once again tied as fnatic closed the gap of two rounds.
18:38 - Now they even got ahead. First 6-5 and then adding another round to 7-5.
18:42 - Getting an early lead wasn't enough for
MYM who failed to capitalize on their opponents mistakes. Instead,
fnatic got into the game, turning it around and winning the first half 9-6. If they can keep MYM from scoring more than 8 rounds in the 2nd half, fnatic will proceed to the Grand Final against
mTw.AMD.
18:50 - fnatic started their second half as they ended their first - running over MYM. Currently the score is 4-0 for the defending fnatic-team, which adds up to 13-6 overall. MYM needs one hell of a miracle to pull this through.
18:52 - MYM might have lost their match now. In a clutch-round, ending up in a 1on1, fnatic pulls through getting their 14th round. Instead of granting MYM a tiny rope to cling to, the outcome of the round almost certainly sent the Polish side out.
18:53 - 15-6 for fnatic now. It seems like we are going to have a Scandinavian Grand Final this evening.
18:55 - 16-6 for fnatic and MYM is eliminated in the Semi-final. A real feat by a fnatic-side that were in the ropes against Made in Brazil. Now we are going to have a break for about an hour and then the Grand Final will be played here at KODE5. We still haven't recieved any info regarding when the 3rd place decider will be played, but a good guess would be "pretty soon".
20:30 - mTw.AMD are cruising against fnatic. They have racked up 11 rounds so far on the defensive pat of de_inferno, almost clinching the first half with a nice score.
20:33 - mTw.AMD took the first half down with a 12-3 score. SK Gaming and MYM are playing 3rd place decider at the moment, and that match is swinging in favor of MYM in the early stages of the match.
20:51 - mTw won the first map in the Grand Final 16-6. The Danish underdogs are chasing their first International win in a long time, and it seems like this could be their chance to shine. Next up is de_nuke, where fnatic traditionally is strong and mTw traditionally are not so strong. Let's see how it goes.
20:54 - MYM destroyed SK Gaming on the first map, de_dus2. 16-5 was the final score and now it is time for de_train. mTw.AMD is currently leading 3-1 on de_nuke against fnatic.
