Exotic countries has exotic women, exotic food and exotic disseases. I have run into all three things in Russia. While I was expecting to be guiding the readers through day one of KODE5, I instead find myself tied to the bed more or less. We went out last night and had some dinner, got some drinks and just enjoyed life in the Russian capital.
And I enjoyed it very much. Russian girls can be kindda beatiful and there were quite a few "eye-catching" ladies around. Oh well, I have a wonderful girlfriend at home, so I just kept it at the looking-feat. We went home around 12 PM, as we would have to get up and start early today. Peter from QPAD even got a prop-bet with one of his Russian employees about if he could be at the booth at 9.
Let's just say he didn't. While I totally forgot to put the alarm on, the other guys had alarms in their room. The only problems was that the alarms were set in Danish time - which is two hour later than here. So when they woke up at 7AM, the time was acAtually already 9 in Moscow. A good hour earlier I had stumbled out of the bed and tried to gather my body together. It worked, but not for long. When we arrived at the event, the heat, the noise and my stomach just killed me. I ended up puking in a trashcan and shortly after, taking a cab to the hotel.
Oh yeah, and the cab itself should have a blog. A Russian Lada (you know one of those shit-cheap cars that can run on anything from vodka to goat-piss), that was 6 years old. I think they were bad at numbers, because it looked like it had participated in the war. My seat was trying to fall apart, only being held from it by ducktape. The side mirror in my side was also held by ducktape, the seatbelt were of no use as it could't hold anything and from time to time the motor in the car just died - getting the driver to manically push at the "choker" to kickstart it. I was so happy to get out alive that I gave them 20$ instead of the 15 they wanted.
Anyway, I don't even have Internet at the hotel, and it was first at around 4PM that I was actually fit to sit with my laptop in the bed, without thinking about were to put it if I had to puke :-( I'm truly sorry for all this crap, I was highly motivated to give you a bunch of great things, but in my current condition I couldn't even sit still in the room. And I would love to be at the venue instead of sitting here and eating Russian bread-snacks worth 3€ from the minibar, and watching Japanese baseball muted...
This is day two of the tournament, and I am at the venue now - more fatigued that I ever thought I could be. I will though still try to give you a little something, and I'm currently working on some video-content from the event, aswell as some pictures of the setup.
