DotA: DiamondZ to Gun down their enemies?

Europe DiamondZ e.V. has been having a lot of ups and downs for the past few months. The team had some great successes against MeetYourMakers and SK-gaming, but at the same time they lost to other teams who were less of an opponent, compared to teams like MYM and SK.

With their latest loss in the Pride #11, where they got knocked out in the first match of the WB against serious-gaming and then in the LB against Kingsurf, dmZ has to do something if they want to take home a win at this Dreamhack.

Only time will tell if choosing the Kingsurf.Int player Gunz to be their stand-in for this event, is a wise or a bold choice. Either way, Gunz will most likely add something new to the team - that being a different style of playing, different tactics or just another spirit that might lead the team to victory.

This being dmZ's very first DH and very first offline event, will maybe give them that extra boost they need; they will fight hard not to disappoint their gaming organisation nor fans with a bad performance!

dmZ|Swoopie interview:

How do you expect your team to perform for this event? Will you still be able to make a good performance with your stand-in?

I expect great glory and fame. surely it will be interesting to see how we do with a standin but im feeling confident that the others teams will be surprised by our great wisdom ))

Who are you sending to Dreamhack from your team and why?

me, nike, sond, nozg and if all goes well, gunz. simply cause we are the ones who can, lacoste couldnt get off work for the event sadly.

What was your first impression when you found out DH was going use 57b for the tournament? Is it something you are looking forward to? Or have you and your team not practised enough on this version?

honestly, we stopped caring about 52e a long time ago, playstyle didnt fit us and the game just wasnt fun to us. we feel its the correct decision and have no worries about it being the new version. Remember - HLR1 always hosts latest map released for great and awesome practise, tnx guys.

Will this move by DH have influence on the outcome of the tournament? Will we see a different top 3 with 57b that we would in e.g. 52e?

well i can say that it definitely improves our chances, the outcome is a lot less predictable now aswell as more interesting

How much have your team practised on 57b?

not so much, we're all busy with work and education but i dont think it differs too much from 56, which we've played quite alot

The prize money for DotA is the same as it was for DH summer - do you think there is any particular reason, such as DotA not being truly accepted on the competitive eSports scene?? Or were DH just not able to get more money to give to DotA?

Hard question, I think dota still hasnt earned enough respect in the scene. It does seem to be evolving though since as i see it, this will be the toughest dota tournament at DH so far with many competitive teams attending. Hopefully they'll realise the interest that dota does have and improve the prizes for the next event.

Who do you think have the best chance winning at a LAN - Europe, Asian or American teams?

asian teams, only for the reason that they go to more LANs, i dont think we've enough experience with these encounters to say anything else though

This is your very first offline event as dmZ - do you think you will be able to perform as good offline and you are online - or maybe even better?

this will surely be an important experience, we are very excited to meet for the first time and i feel this will strenghten us as a team. Being the first event im not really putting up any goals to achieve really, this time we will just learn from the experience, play our game and enjoy some nice dotas with some of the best teams in the world -)

Are you participating for DH because of the prize money, or because the management of dmZ wanted you to go?

Neither really, we, the team, wants to.

Are you looking forward to DH, seeing this will be the first time you go there and to any offline event?

Duhh, its gonna be legendary!
