How do you feel losing to whO in the second round? What happened in that match?
I am extremely disappointed with my performance at the semi finals. I made plenty of stupid mistakes during the match. My micro was pretty bad, and my decision making wasn't the best.
Are you satisfied with second place this year?
Not at all. My initial goals were to bring home the gold medal.
Any lessons learnt from this year’s ESWC?
Yes, I think I’m always learning new things everyday. In fact, I learn a lot from every tournament and this ESWC has taught me a very good lesson. I plan to work on my HU vs Orc match-up when I'm back home in China.
How did you prepare for the Grand Finals?
I tried to catch up on my sleep and watch whO’s replays from ESWC before the Grand Finals started.
You also defeated your arch-rival Grubby easily this time 2-0. How would you rate your performance against him?
I think there are very few European Human players who is able to emulate my playstyle of using MK first, which explains why he isn’t that good against my strategies. However, I also believe that he will perform much better against me in future.
What do you think of your groupstages? Both groups appeared to be hardest ones of the whole tournament.
Yeah, I liked them a lot. I don’t think that the groups were as hard as everyone thought it was. But I always enjoy a good challenge anyway.
How much did the jetlag affected your games today?
It did affect me a little bit, but I adjusted well enough.
How did you prepare for this ESWC?
I practiced all day like crazy. I was always searching for practice partners all the time. I’d have to say I’m pretty satisfied with my form right now as well, considering the amount of practice I’ve got. But I also do believe that I have room for improvement in future.
In the single elimination round, you had to face your fellow countrymen. How does it feel to knock them out?
I feel a little guilty knocking them out of the tournament. The best situation for me was to face someone from another country in the single elimination stage, but play against your own countryman in the finals. That way, a Chinese would be guaranteed a gold medal.
Furthermore, all three of us understand each other playstyles very well, since we practice against each other most of the time.
In the last game against TED, you tried to surprise him without fast expanding. Did you think that the strategy would have worked out?
Yes I did, because I’ve practiced that strategy on that map quite a lot, so I was pretty confident of using it against him.
What are your thoughts about this year’s ESWC in San Jose with no fans attending?
I think it’s quite an upset for the organizers. But hopefully they will hold their finals in China next year, since China has plenty of fans and they will be able to follow such an exciting tournament live.
On a final note, Sky would also like to thank his sponsors for their constant support – Pepsi, Razer, Intel and Kingston, and also hopes that the WC3 community would continue to grow.

I think Sky definitely deserved this more. WhO had a bit of luck in the group stages. Sky's play was also amazing throughout this tournament. It goes to show that Silver, or Bronze does not matter, all that matters is the gold.
