TG Sambo | Intel Classic 2008 *Grand Finals*

tgi

South Korea is without a doubt the StarCraft locomotive, and their leagues and tourneys that take place each week are the solid proof that our beloved game is nowhere near dead.

The TG | Intel Classic is an event that was aimed at the non-Korean audience, as the GomTv Star Invitational tournament who ended not long ago, (getting more than 1 million unique viewers) proved to be very successful.

The prize money for this event is more than tempting, since we’re talking about almost $100.000, and the money distribution looks like this:

- $ 40.000 for the 1st place

- $ 15.000 for the 2nd place

- $ 10.000 for each semifinalist

- $ 5.000 for each quarterfinalist

The format for this tourney is the single elimination system being played as a best-of-3, while the maps are: Katrina SE, Blue Storm, Wuthering Heights, Colosseum, Andromeda. This is a 148-man tourney, with 32 of them being seeded according to their highest KeSPA ranks; this means that the 116 players who were not seeded will play the first round, after which the winners will join the 32 seeded players.

Note: Due to some issues that have not yet been clarified, KeSPA did not approve this tourney as being an official one, meaning that no points will be granted to the participating players. Also, only 7 out of the 12 professional StarCraft teams from South Korea have sent players to this event: CJ Entus, Hanbit Stars, KTF MagicNs, Lecaf Oz, Samsung KHAN, STX SouL and WeMade FOX.

New to this tournament is the focus on the foreign non-korean audience by Gretech, following on from the success of the GomTV Star Invitational, Nick 'Tasteless' Plott returns to provide english commentary for the entire tournament.

Tune in every Sunday 11:00 AM CET. (LINK)

you gotta love yellow, he is a drop of color right now with his micro-intensive strategies.
the maps these days are very macro-oriented so it makes micro more and more rare to see. and yea, yellow <3

I'll be nicer when you're smarter.

I like yellow in particular cause everytime he brings some strat out of hes pocket and owns the guy like np .i mean that Proxy Hatchery was briliant then then going ALL-In with 4 lurkers and some zerglingz... .. and then owning with perfect muta micro O_o....Not like other zerg players like Jaedong / savior who play by the book...Yellow has a unique style to say so...he never plays "by the book" like the guys reminded a
I think even if my 80 year old grandma would watch a vod casted by tasteless when yellow is playing she would be excited :)))
Later Edit: Very Very good job with the coverage ^^ best i`ve ever seen so far ... and i`m not new here xD keep up the good work ;)

haha damn right! brb calling grandma... ok back. well thats the thing with old gosus still in the tourneys: they bring some fresh strategies that the new players simply can't follow :D it is good to see some of the ancient masters still owning :P
I'll be nicer when you're smarter.
