Day 1 results

osl

Round after round, we will have the chance to observe all the 4 games in one day due to the interesting OSL system; well, there were some big names that we would have to notice straight away.

Firstly, the one who always finishes the race as runner-up, the one who used to be the King of PvP, we present Song Protoss "Stork[gm]” Byung Goo. Facing another Protoss player under the same roof, Samsung KHAN, Stork will have to do his best. In the past, although it was the golden age of Protoss with the dominance age of Protoss Bisu[Shield], Stork was still the best player on the Protoss mirror match-up, so let’s see if he can keep up this winning streak even though his shape hasn’t been the best one recently.

Besides the match of Protoss Stork vs Protoss Jangbi, please go out for some popcorn and then go back to enjoy Protoss Bisu vs Terran InteR.Mind, probably the most interesting game of the first day. As you can remember (in case you don't, let me remind you right now), Terran Mind used to be MSL Champion who brought down our “Bruce Lee Toss” in MSL Season 3 2007. This match would be epic! Well, in this EVER OSL, being one of the seeds from the last Bacchus StarLeague, Protoss Bisu chose Terran Mind as his first opponent in group D, so his ambition was very clear for us. As for the results, you can get from the tables below.

BProtoss Stork[gm]<Protoss JangbiOthello
CZerg Yellow[AnrC]<Zerg RumbleAndromeda

What can we say about the first match rather than blaming Terran Sea for not taking into consideration the all-known fact that when Protoss Rock doesn't know what to do, he techs to Carriers? It's not that Rock won this match, Sea lost it; his mistakes as well as his rather poor concentration led to this result. Maybe Mind will learn from Sea's mistakes.

Protoss JangBi is just going up, that's the only way he knows right now. Not only did he display great PvT, basically replacing Protoss Stork as this match-up's king, but he pushed it one step further: he defeated the PvP king, who was also the PvT king until Terran Flash defeated him. More than once. Did I mention they both share the same team? It would be nice to see the post-game reactions at the Samsung KHAN headquarters.

Zerg Rumble was definitely not the favorite here, since we are talking about one of the best ZvT/ZvZ players with a lack of nickname originality (come on, Yarnc, find a nickname of your own already! Is it THAT hard?) facing a young and rather unknown Zerg player, who is definitely not used to the spotlight. The cat was basically in the bag for Zerg Yellow[ArnC], right? Right. However, he just had to ruin it all. Let's see how bad he will do against his brother, since he lost to this fresh Zerg player.

Protoss Bisu vs. Terran Mind was definitely the highlight of the day, and it had "revenge" written all over it. Bisu showed some courage when he drafted Mind into his group, clearly showing that he wants to get back at him for that MSL title. And guess what? He did. A failing Bisu wasn't really considered the victor here, especially since Mind didn't do too bad lately, but the Bruce Lee Toss managed to transform that drafting choice from "stupidly curageous" to "inspiringly courageous". Does this mean Bisu is back? Let's not jump to any conclusions yet.
