Round of 8 - Week 1

osl

With the results of the tiebreakers, we all know of 8 faces who will move on, so the first day of round 8 looks quite promising in terms of fun. Now, it's the time for us to check the brackets for this week.

Round 8 - Week 1
MatchPlayer 1
Player 2Map
1Terran Flash<
Zerg LuxuryTroy
2Protoss Much<Protoss BeStHwarangdo
3Protoss Rock<Zerg JulyZergAndromeda
4Protoss Jangbi>Protoss BackHoOthello

Before the first match began, many people expected Terran Flash ’s easy win over the new ZvT artist from OGN SparkyZ: Zerg Luxury. However, remember the first map was Troy, one of the most difficult maps recently for the progamers which had some special things inside just like the Assimilator at their front yard of the main base so it also contained some incredible strategies.

Let me explain!

If you tear down one of the Assimilators, only small size unit can pass, for example: Zergling, Zealot and Marine. And if all of them are destroyed, the main base will turn into the isolated island.

Well, Zerg Luxury had exploited that special map very well so he won our Terran Genius. But after the game, Terran Flash showed his interesting face to the new game style of his opponent so I think we will have even more exciting games in the next week. Just wait and enjoy!

Our second game: Protoss BeSt’s match against “Mr 40” Protoss Much was quite fun. One is the new raising star of Protosss force. One is the old and experienced face in the progaming scene, who has just passed both OSL and MSL. So for this match, I’ll let you have some space to watch how they performed. Just come back here and tell us what you think about their match.

Who said the era of Zerg JulyZerg was behind? Who could find the player who could control Multalisk better than him? And please answer me who made the revolution of Zerg micro way? Just tell me and you’ll see. Do not compare him with Zerg sAviOr or Zerg Jaedong. Do not compare him with anyone else because he’s the only one, our favourite sumo.

Since Protoss Stork is not the Samsung KHAN pack leader, someone else had to take control, and that particular someone is none other than Protoss JangBi. Protoss BackHo sure displayed some interesting strategies that resulted in some quite unexpected wins, but JangBi was definitely the better Protoss at the end of the day. We might even say that BackHo got lucky losing to him rather than facing the other players that got so far.

if the second assimilator is destroyed, not even the small unit can pass, which means the bases become isles.

flash just couldnt cope with this map. luxury exploited the fact that you can isolate the expos with the assimilators pretty good with getting an early expo at 11 o'clock, which won him the game in the end imo.
