MYM’s talismanic player Grubby has confessed that mousesports has proven to be the biggest opponent throughout the entire WC3L playoffs after having defeated top favorites World Elite and knocking out MYM to the lower brackets.

“Apart from the clan war we lost, the second clan war against mousesports was the hardest,” he revealed.

“Moon almost lost to HasuObs on Twisted Meadows, but eventually it came down to the 2v2, which we were uncertain about, since we got some practice in 2v2, but not against Orc/Human (Fly/Yumiko) or Human/Undead (ToD/HasuObs).

“So we had to think of our strategies on the spot.”

The new WC3L champions faced mousesports three times, and the Orc player went head-to-head against Yumiko in every match. Grubby however, denied that the line-up was conceived.

“We considered all possibilities, which seem to be infinite, but we didn’t plan it.

“We had 3 clan wars against mousesports and we could have a better line-up if we had known how they see it. But the line-ups were never the worst for us, so we were happy.

“Playing against Yumiko so many times were pretty much the same. I was a little nervous before each match and I tried not to underestimate him, but after the first series it was quite hard.

“Even though I lost against him on EI, I have to say that it was a serious game. I practiced the strategy and thought it could work, but unfortunately I didn’t practice it on EI.”

Grubby believes that the WC3L playoffs were held in a very suitable time for the squad, given that the entire team was in an excellent shape.

He continued: “We had a few small problems during the online season. Some players had worse periods like Susiria, who had a real-life engagement going on.

“But right now, my shape is better than before, and Moon’s shape is also better.

“Moon practiced well during PGL, since he had a lot of games. Susiria, Lucifer and me played together and it was very fun. It also brought us a bit closer together, and we got a lot of practice; about a hundred games in just 3 days.”

Grubby has also expressed his delight winning his first WC3L season with MYM.

“I didn’t expect it, but it was about time for MYM to win it,” he said.

“WE and SK are so strong, and I thought for sure one of them will take it. I almost made a mistake by counting mousesports out of the contention.

“I don’t know what to expect in the future for us, but perhaps we will do more experimentation with 2v2 and a better online performance hopefully.

“I like team events best, because they are the most fun; You don’t play only for yourself, but for the whole team.”
