Pre-Interview: Questions 1-3

Question No. 1:
The GSL League will kick off those days. Are you happy that you have been invited? What do you think about the event in general?

MondragonToT)Mondragon(
Christoph Semke
Germany Zerg
Of course I am happy that I was invited. The event itself looks very promising since there are not many big cash leagues anymore in BW and I am looking forward to playing it.
Sarens
ToT)SarenS(
Pierre Guivarch
France Terran
Yes, I'm very happy that I got invited! I try to get back on activity and I want to play good games. I wanna thank the organizers for this opportunity.
The event seems to be really nice, including Germans and Europeans, with big names, I guess fun will takes place !

ToT)GohaN(
Krzysztof Zyszczuk
Poland Protoss
Sure I am. For me it is the first big online event, that has such a high ammount of big prizes. That is why I actually started to play BroodWar again.
Well, I only saw news on this German site. I suppose more sites should show interest for that event.

HoRRoR-ScT-
Marius Overhageböck
Germany Terran
I'm happy for sure. A good thing of the GSL is that you win 25€ for each win. That's some extra money! Sadly you won't get the money until the season ends and thats a negative aspect in my opinion, the long season (9 months!).
I haven't had much problems with being active but I think it's just too long. But I like such an event like the GSL in general. The sponsors that are hosting such events are quite rare, so every event is welcome.

3D.Notforu
Alexander Davydov
Russian Fede- Zerg
I am really honored that such big and cute tournament decided to invite me. I hope it will be a tradition to invite one russian player to all European tourneys, other question is to decide whom. In general I like it very much. Such a wonderful idea.

MYM.Gentleman
Jan Hansen
Germany Protoss
Of course I am really happy that I have been invited. This is the most Important league I will ever play. This event is great with really good support and good management. I'm on fire and I cant wait till this league starts!

ToT)SquaLL(
David Saez
Spain Zerg
Yeah, I'm really happy that I've been invited to this huge tournament. I think it will be great, the skill of the invited people is really high,
and the coverage of the event seems really good, with broadcasted games every week, I'm pretty sure this event will be very succesful.

MYM.White-Ra
Aleks Krupnick
Ukraine Protoss
It is an excellent league, it is quite a long time ago when we saw an event that united all the best players of the Europe in one league!

Question No. 2:

Finally money is back in a StarCraft online event. How important is that fact in general and in particular for you?

MondragonToT)Mondragon(
Christoph Semke
Germany Zerg
It might sound greedy, but I guess everyone will agree that it is clearly more attractive to players when there is money involved. So yeah, it's a really nice addition ;).
Sarens
ToT)SarenS(
Pierre Guivarch
France Terran
Money is a good thing. Anyways in this tourney and others I wasn't the favorite at anytime, so I do not think about getting money in playing SC :-)

ToT)GohaN(
Krzysztof Zyszczuk
Poland Protoss
I won't lie - it's the main reason.

HoRRoR-ScT-
Marius Overhageböck
Germany Terran
Money in general brings more professionality to the event. You'll see every player doing his best since there is a change to win 25€ per win and I think it will a tough and skill intensive season.
Furthermore it brings more motivation to me, playing and training maps like Bluestorm (-.-) because I want to get as much money as possible ;p.

3D.Notforu
Alexander Davydov
Russian Fede- Zerg
Actually not much money =) Especially for a time of six months. Anyways, it is very important to have sponsorship with good prize money because it's the 2nd best stimulation ever. The first is the strong will to become the champion. I hope we have really HARD games.

MYM.Gentleman
Jan Hansen
Germany Protoss
For me it is not necessary to play for money, because I just love playing Broodwar. But of course it's a great motivation to train hard for this event cause everybody needs money ;). And to earn some money with my hobby is just perfect!!

ToT)SquaLL(
David Saez
Spain Zerg
No doubt, it's a very important thing to have money involved. The lack of professionalism in the scene makes this kind of events even more important for the players, so we have a chance to get some big prizes.

MYM.White-Ra
Aleks Krupnick
Ukraine Protoss
For many Starcraft it is more than a hobby and favourite game - it is already a part of their life for some. And the monetary prize only will add much desire to show good results!

Question No. 3:

Eight German and eight none German players have been invited. What are you thoughts about that and the choice of the invited players?

MondragonToT)Mondragon(
Christoph Semke
Germany Zerg
Since it's an invitational tournament, there will always be discussion about the invited people if they are skilled enough, mannered enough, reliable enough etc. But it is impossible to satisfy everyone in terms on invited players are there might be of course better choices in some opinions but all in all the selection is pretty fine I guess.
Sarens
ToT)SarenS(
Pierre Guivarch
France Terran
The thing that the organizers decided to open their tourneys to Europeans is great, I think the people who have been invited to GSL are good players even they couldn't invite every men.

ToT)GohaN(
Krzysztof Zyszczuk
Poland Protoss
Well, some of the German players are strong and some are not. The other players, I think, are all very good. I bet everyone is hardly practising for this event, so I think we gonna see really nice games, even from players we do not expect this!

HoRRoR-ScT-
Marius Overhageböck
Germany Terran
I am thankful, to be honest, that there are eight German players because I'm rating my chances higher to win vs a German than to win vs a 'foreigner'.
But nevertheless, all of the invited players are top players and none of the matches will be easy if all players will stay active.
I doubt that all of the players will stay active until the end of the tournament, but let's see what will happen.

3D.Notforu
Alexander Davydov
Russian Fede- Zerg
Eight German players are ok since Germany hosts the league. Other players are also good and very famous and high skilled, but if you ask me, I would do some replacements. Don't wanna tell details =).

MYM.Gentleman
Jan Hansen
Germany Protoss
The invited players are all good and everybody deserved that invite I guess. But of course we have some favorite players and some who try to bring some trouble in this group :). I hope for some unexpected scores!

ToT)SquaLL(
David Saez
Spain Zerg
Since the tournament is addressed to European players, I think the choice is pretty accurate. I mean, if you can only invite 16 players, there will always be somebody missing, but tbh I don't think people can complain about the choice

MYM.White-Ra
Aleks Krupnick
Ukraine Protoss
It became to a common thing that players from different countries are united in a couple of leagues and events and it is the same good thing here, since the organizer tries to involve as many different players as possible. All players are strong and skilled - there won't be any easy match for me!
