The successor program of Turtle Entertainments most popular league format in the International scene is about to start - we talk about the ESL Extreme Masters Season II.

24 CS-teams and 25 WC3-players from all over the globe are going to compete against each other in the mainround of the tournament. The twelve best teams and players (top3 teams of their respective groups) will advance to the finals playoffs, after the entire amount of playweeks have been played in the groupstage.

The playoff stage will feature the creme de la creme of the Counter-Strike scene - eSTRO as well as mibr already qualified themselves for the final round in CS, while the likes of Lucifer and Lyn qualified for WC3 via the Los Angeles Extreme Master stop, which had offered two invites for the two best foreign teams/players from continents apart from Europe.
