May, 13: MYM KOTH Birthday Special
Do you remember how everything started with the MYM KOTH? This is how the introduction for the first news ever about the KOTH on myMYM.com looked like:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, dear unique StarCraft community and ardent admirers of the best computer game in the field of eSports, take a seat, lean back, relax, get something to eat and light a cigar, because today we, the MeetYourMakers StarCraft Crew, present you the herald in a new age of entertainment and participation of the community. The time has come to start the "MeetYourMakers King of the Hill broadcasted by GIGA 2".
Yes, the first KOTH ever took place on the 8th of May 8 2007. Later on, it even moved to the German broadcasting channel ESL TV and these days we celebrate 1 year of MYM KOTH broadcasted by ESL TV!
Each Monday evening, two top players from the non-Korean scene meet on the battlefield in a best-of-five series. At the end only one man can survive and be able to take the royal title of honour and glory: The King of the MYM KOTH broadcasted by ESL TV!
Within just 12 months, the KOTH developed to be one of the most interesting and prestigious events in the StarCraft scene and became one of the key shows on ESL TV. You can find a full list with all matches and replays that have been played so far here.
Now myMYM.com and ESL TV are proud to present the MYM KOTH Birthday special live on ESL TV.
