With an enormous prize purse of $65,000 (US-Dollars) and competing top-teams from all over the globe, this impressive LAN event will be one of the highlights eSport has to offer this year's half. In addition the Extreme Masters L.A. can be seen starting from the 18th of October up to October the 21st at the successor of the successful and much-vaunted E3 exhibition, namely E for All.

The Intel Extreme Masters L.A. is a global tournament in Counter-Strike and Warcraft 3. Teams and players have to apply for the tournament. Origin of the players is not important. Players and teams from all over the world are heartily invited to take part in this Global Challenge. Additionally, two wildcards will be given out. A local pre tournament will be held on Thursday at E for All to determine the wildcard participants. The main tournament will start out with a group phase, followed by a double elimination bracket.

On top of a huge prize money amount, the best two non-european Counter-Strike teams and Warcraft players will receive a slot for the upcoming Extreme Masters Season II Finals, which are going to hit ground in March, 2008.
