CS 1.6: The teams

written by Morocco Nasser "xani" El Mouaden

Sweden SK Gaming (Schroet Kommando) is one of the most well known teams around the world and stands as a legend since oldschool times in the world of Counter-Strike since the team has been the home of some of the greatest player eSport has known such as Sweden HeatoN, Sweden potti, Sweden SpawN, Norway elemeNt and so on... The former german organization has seen its swedish counter-strike division grow faster and faster to finnally get the most performing roster of the two SK divisions. They've won most of the big events around the world and dominated 2003 almost flawlessly.

We saw them playing pretty well at last weekend Sweden WCG swedish qualifiers, having some close games against the winner in the group stage (14:16) to Sweden fnatic and versus Sweden NiP in semifinal loosing two maps (de_nuke : 14:16; de_dust2 : 10:16).

SK Gaming lineup :

  • Sweden Abdissamad "SpawN" Mohamed
  • Sweden Christer "fisker" Eriksson
  • Sweden Robert "RobbaN" Dahlstrom
  • Sweden Jimmy "allen" Allen
  • Sweden Emil "striker" Westerberg

Sweden Fnatic has been part of the very best teams in the world for around 2 years now when Sweden dsn got involved in it; for the first as a stand-in for CPL singapoure where he performed well what made him become a full member of fnatic's Counter-Strike squad.

After reforming the team in 2006 by bringing in Sweden cArn, his mate from their former team Sweden Gamers.nu, the newcomer Sweden Archi, and Sweden f0rest and Sweden Tentpole from begrip, things started to work out quite well as the lineup was gathering undoubtedly some of the best skills and most aggressive playstyle around what made the team strong enough to perform well at big events as they kept doing later on by placing 3rd at France ESWC grand finals 2007 and getting the #1 spot in Spain GameGune, Korea, South WEG e-Stars 2007 and Sweden swedish WCG qualifiers where they took the final over Sweden NiP pretty easily.

Moreover they also ended up 1st at the last NGL One season.

Fnatic will stand as favourite in this NGL One finals.

Fnatic's lineup :

  • Sweden Harley "dsn" Orwall
  • Sweden Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg
  • Sweden Patrik "cArn" Sattermon
  • Sweden Oskar "ins" Holm
  • Sweden Oscar "Archi" Torgersen

Denmark Team NoA : The whole thing started in November 26th of 2003 when team NoA was created firstly with an intercontinental norwegian/american/canadian (3/1/1) roster. They reached the United State- CPL winter grand final loosing to Sweden SK after around one month after their creation. After that, NoA kept rocking the north american scene and won the United State- CPL summer event 2004 by beatting Sweden EYEballers in an awesome final, meanwhile Norway elemeNt was added to the team.

Then team NoA went on a fully scandinavian based team adding swedes (Sweden Red, Sweden speedi, Sweden kixer) and kept changing and trying new combination by adding new two norwegian players (xione, prb) and two danes from team Denmark Asylum; Denmark zonic and Denmark hpx.

They performed well after these moves as they won the Denmark shgOpen 2006 easily.

Summer 2006 was a turning for the team as Norway XeqtR announced quiting professional gaming along with prb not renewing his contract what left as norwegian just the name of the team.

The team signed a full danish lineup with at the beginning Denmark Paddy, who was replaced later on by Denmark Sunde.

They finnally headed to France ESWC where they reach the final to give us an amazing and very close match against the polish powerhouse Poland PGS.

NoA's lineup :

  • Denmark Danny "zonic" Sorensen
  • Denmark Brian "hpx" Pohl Christensen
  • Denmark Muhamed "mJe" Eid
  • Denmark Alexander "ave" Holdt
  • Denmark Christoffer "Sunde" Sunde

Germany mousesports : mouz has been one of the best german teams for years now. Created in Berlin in 2002, mouz sheltered some of the greatest names of german counter-strike scene such as the AWP legend Germany Johnny R., Germany blizzard, Germany Roman R , more recently Germany Silver and so on...

Mousesports have had turbulent times as its lineup didnt stop changing, it kept therefore instable and the team wasn't able to practice as they should. We saw them playing the "newcomer card" as they added Germany cyx and Germany gob b to their starting lineup.

However, they managed to get a spot for NGL One finals by beatting x6tence easily on de_train (16:01) and confirmed by winning their next NGL One match versus Denmark NoA on de_nuke (16:09).

They will attend the NGL One finals at the games convention as underdogs.

mousesports lineup :

  • Germany Navid "Kapio" Javadi
  • Germany Antonio "cyx" Daniloski
  • Germany Fatih "gob b" Dayik
  • Austria Franz "gore" Burghardt
  • Germany Manuel "Tixo" Makohl
