DotA's Finest Players of 2008

The year 2008 has finally come to an end and myMYM.com has produced the ranking of the year's best DotA players as a recap of the wonderful memories of the past year.
Some players excelled to the point where they got awarded multiple titles, while some dominated one and only category - as DotA is a teamgame where a team consists of 5 players of which each plays a different role, it is nearly impossible to have a player win multiple categories.

Who owned the most? Who bought the most wards? Who was the most dominant on ventrilo? Who farmed the most? Meet the creme de la creme!

Method; (Top 5 Ganker, Support, Carry and Leader):

1. 20 respected individuals from IDEC were interviewed to list down their personal top 5 support,carry,gank, and leader.
2. After all 20 members have responded, the results were summarized and analyzed to create the ranking. Individual with the highest vote will be ranked number 1 and individual with the 2nd highest vote will be ranked number 2 and so forth.

Errors and bias are unavoidable but with a big sample size like this and by asking responsible members, the bias is highly reduced.

The Community Poll:

At the end of each category, you will have the chance to vote for your personal favourite ganker, carry, support, and leader of 2008. Return the favour to the superstars that have inspired your playstyle throughout the year. Be a part of the community poll!

LOL this is pathetic you guys claim this article is "bs" but you all get worked up over it. If it was up to me i would have the done polls as, one for players only who took part in any of the offcial matches even if they only played one game, so it would be "the players vote/poll" and then one for the public where everyone can be biased as they want LOL.

Maybe even one for the offcials as well just to see the difference on opinions, but at the end of the day poll dont really mean that much its just a matter of opinion its the results that do the talking.

I seriously think theres something wrong with those people, complaining that this is bullshit and stuffs like that. Looking at 2008, esp towards the end, MYM.DotA dominated the scene with many impressive games, so its natural that their player get rated higher than others (who didnt do that well, for example, say Kingsurf), even IF the player level may not necessarily be so (altho i think the vote is quite accurate, i dun 100% agree, but mostly i do). Know why Vigoss, ARS-ART, Jolie etc got so famous, cos VP was the God back in their era, fame come w success, so too bad if ur fav player got his backside handed to him in every tourney, even if his skill-lvl is surreal, alright? :) Back on topic, Fear is my fav farmer (theres LoH too), learn my play-style frm him a lot. And Merlini is my fav solo (love to watch his 1st 20-30 mins of game-play, or the whole game if he plays Puck xD).

and just a reminder, to enter IDEC (international Dota elite community), you have to get invited by the admins. So to all those who thinks whole DotA community > IDEC in terms of professionalism and credibility, think again.
