“The greed of winning, dedication and desire to succeed as a team”, that’s all Wiktor ‘TaZ’ Wojtas wants his team to show, so they can grow back to their former strength in the next couple of weeks. With Filip ‘pionas’ Pionka in as a new player, the Polish Counter-Strike team wants to get those attitudes back into their head. Something that got lost in the last year. “For some teams winning ESWC Grand Final, Dreamhack and some other good results would be enough, but we want more.”

For MYM|TaZ, the high expectations were not met after losing in the ESL Extreme Masters Dubai finals and losing early consecutively at the World eSports Masters and the World Cyber Games. “We were thinking about changing something, changes inside the game didn't really work for us, so we decided to change something outside. The result is this.” Additionally the new player was supposed to change some game play issues of the team: “We needed not only fresh blood, but a second good AWP player as well.”

The entire team looked at the Polish market already before the big October tournaments and after losing one map to Frag eXecutors in the national ‘Heyah Logitech Cybersport’ competition they were interested in pionas. “He is a versatile player with great AWP skills and nice adaptive game style. He is also a very nice and calm guy who also really wants to win and rarely shows a sign of pressure.”

TaZ was especially impressed by the development of him: “He started to play more CS and wanted to get better and win against us on LAN with his old team. That really showed that he wanted to improve.” In the end pionas was able to win at least one map against the Polish powerhouse and more importantly planted himself in the position to join this team just some weeks later. “They won this one map mostly thanks to pionas performance with his AWP on de_dust2.”

Before DreamHack, the team went to Stockholm and practiced at the famous Inferno Online. For TaZ, already the big Swedish LAN could be the place to show how much things have changed for them. “I felt already some changes in our game and DreamHack showed how far we developed.”

The new MYM.CS at Dreamhack Winter 2008
