2) Do you think that converting to -rd would help solving the issue about DotA not being interesting enough for both the player and the spectator?
For the player: Yes I think it would be more fun to play it, but as I said earlier the problem ain't the mode, it's the imbalanced and boring "rice" heroes that makes the game hard to stand.
I think that changing to Rd will solve this matter just for a short period of time after a while they will get bored aswell and will seek another mode that its more entertaining. Changing to rd will not solve anything for a long term, I think people lost their interest of playing it not for a certain reason, its something that I can't describe. From my point of wiew as a player it only interest me to play a game where i can control the heroes not the game to control me, even though our players have a lot of experience with all the heroes, so i rather stick with this version and try to change other things.
To be honest there are a lot of changes that can be made, some are very drastic, but also could make the players play even more careful, which would make the effect we don't want to the game, for example if you remove buybacks it will force the players to play even less aggressive, if you put more cooldown on wards, as well, and it would enhance the values of heroes like visage, beastmaster etc, even more. I think RD could make the game more interesting since there will be many heroes that will be used, but as I said there will be some luck.
For the spectator i think it kinda solves the issue which we all know is the time length during the picks. But as a player i can't agree on that since i think picking and banning from the whole hero-pool is much more exciting and gives u a lot more options for your strategy.
I think there would be both negative and positive changes. The fact that it would be much more of a change between heroes since RD generates a random pool. But I also think it takes away a little of the thing with "competitive dota". You can't really train for a tournament (strategies) so you can surprise your opponent which you trained hard for, you have to make up that strategy in about 5 minutes which sounds kinda dumb to me. But I would love to try out the mode more into competitive play and then judge more.
The main problems for the "not interesting/spectator friendly dota" is because of the long games compared to other games such as war3, quake3, etc and the information to understand what is going on ingame, it is easy for someone to watch counter strike and understand what is happening, but it is hard for a none-dotaplayer to understand it, without knowing 99 heroes with 4 spells each and also the items, the runes, roshan etc. so I think it has nothing to do with the mode.
The game as it is already is boring for me. So any change to the system that will make the game faster is always welcomed. As for the spectators, the only version that excites them is the 48b ganking era. Its doubtful that any change of system in the current version will add anything to their excitement.
I dont think so it will make dota more interesting to watch. In my oppinion it will more mess than now. Of course more new heroes will show up but the game will prety like pub game. Sometime the valuable thing from champion is come up from their unique tactic and many people appreciate it and duplicate it, and sure it will be next trend of game style.

"As for the spectators, the only version that excites them is the 48b GANKING ERA. " "Its doubtful that any change of system in the current version will add anything to their excitement." IT is easy then, just bring back the old 48b era with some nerf to the dagger. | |
